Initially I thought it was awful, but I missed removing the thin foam strips that stabilized the pan. Once I remove these and recalibrated, it worked reasonably well. The instructions should mention this.It would be nice if you could easily store the travel strips and the tweezers in the case.However, while the readout goes to 0.001 g it is not precise to this. A tiny aluminum tart pan I use as a protector weighs 1.306; 1.300, 1.295, 1.305, 1.298.For my purposes, weighing out small amounts of dried mushrooms, this is sufficient, as I only need a accuracy of about 1/20 g.I think in use, you can get somewhat better accuracy by placing your object as close to the centre as possible. Most scales like this use multiple sensors, and so one sensor being slightly more or less sensitive can play hobbes with the repeatability.

I bought this as a luggage scale for traveling. I tested this with my dumbbells (10lb, 12lb, 15lb, and 20lb) in a bag using the tare button. It's accurate +/- .5 lb, so good enough for me. It arrived with dead batteries--no big deal, I have some AAAs. Note that the screws that hold the battery cover on are tiny (it comes with a screwdriver) and not held into the cover, so be careful when removing. If one fell into some carpet, you might never find it again.
