The install was very straight forward and everything fit perfect, no fitment issues on my ninja 400. I bent the area for the plate up for a cleaner look and I’m happy with it!!

Well is an easy install if you are not using the OEM parts, but if you really want the best bang for your buck, order this fender eliminator and use the OEM parts, you really have to wiggle them in there, it’s a really tight fit which I love, no play what so ever, with this kit comes with a tighty rubber grummet that they put it in in the whole where the light goes, but you will have to take that out to install the OEM light, use that grummet for tightening up the cables once you fit them in the top whole, if you want to see a great video install that is very very similar go to vagabond fender eliminator on YouTube and is practically the same install (identical). This is $40 for a ninja 400 eliminator that’s great, was going to get the integrated tail lights and all that, but for that I did this and got a musarri muffler for $200 and some other goodies, save your money and get this deal and use OEM parts. Good luck

No issues to install. Be careful not to over tighten as I could see the bolt inserts popping through if you really cranked on it.

Overall a great fender eliminator kit w/ no need to modify anything on the bike aside from removing the stock fender and transferring the stock lights. Docked one star due to fitment issues with the stock turn signals* and minor mounting point alignment issue.+Looks great and is durable+Fits stock z400 under-pillion fender mount+Fits stock z400 license plate illuminator and turn signals*+Provided rubber grommet for the license plate illuminator (stock rubber grommet won't fit) and nuts-Turn signal cutouts are smaller than stock, making turn signal mounting a PITA.-No washers provided and nuts are not self-locking.-Doesn't mount perfectly flush under pillion area.If it weren't for the turn signal fitmet issue, this would've gotten 5-stars. As it stands, the turn signal cutouts are visibily smaller than the stock cutouts. I saw other reviewers saying that "it should be tight", and while that's true, there's no reason for it to be this tight. Having the cutouts be the same size as stock would've been perfectly fine. YOU WILL NEED TO WORK AT IT AND YOUR FINGERS WILL GET BEAT UP, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE TO MOUNT THE STOCK TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS AND HARDWARE.You do not want to leave the backing plate and cover for the turn signals uninstalled - the turn signal might be snug enough to stay put without them, but you'll leave a gaping hole where water, rocks, mud, and other debris can make it *into* your actual turn signal housing and cause issues. And since you no longer have a fender, all of that debris WILL make its way into the eliminator and then into your turn signals. The toughest part was actually getting the backing/stopper plate to fit nicely. I ended up using the cover that screws into the backplate as a lever to help peel back the rubber grommet of the turn signal on one side to make enough space to push the backing/stopper plate into position. Once everything is installed, your turn signals won't be going anywhere. There are two other minor issues. First, minor thing, but it would've been really nice for them to provide washers and/or locking nuts. Second, the eliminator doesn't mount flushly under the pillion: there's an angled groove on the underside for the stock fender, but this eliminator is squared/boxy, instead. It's not a huge problem, and you won't notice it after installation, but it does mean that 1) you should NOT sinch the fender elminator down as hard as you possible can, or else you'll deform/crack your under-fairing, and 2) this is just more space for random gunk to get stuck up in there. I ended up cutting out small squares of 3M adhesive-backed foam strips to the mounting side of the eliminator to provide a buffer, fill the gap, and further dampen vibrations.*Edited 6/5/23 as my orignial review said "headlights" where I meant "turn signals". Over 1 year later and this fender eliminator is still going strong. Hasn't loosened at all or needed additional tightening.

Very nice kit for eliminating the hideous OEM fender, for a nice price. Put it on my Z400, and it looks so much better. There weren’t any instructions, but as usual, there are youtube vids to help if you’re unsure. It’s pretty straightforward; the hardest part was getting the indicator grommets to fit in the new bracket, but with some patience and strong fingers, you’ll get it. I had to push them halfway in and then use a slim but blunt tool (an allen wrench in my case) to stuff the other half of the grommet into place. You’ll probably see what I mean...I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could because they didn’t include washers, but the nuts are big enough that they shouldn’t pull through the holes. Just use some Loctite and forget about it.Ride safe!

I've read some comments saying that you have to use a dremel to make the hole bigger, but not in my case. installation took me around 30 min with the right tools. just be careful not to strip any screw head. BIke look really nice. for instructions you may find some nice videos on youtube. And also make sure to use locktite on the 4 screws holding the fender eliminator.

This was pretty straight forward to install. Didn't come with instructions, but let's be honest, most people are gonna youtube how to do it anyway. Make sure you keep the rubber grommets and washers that go into the license plate light as you will need those when installing the light onto the eliminator. Do not break bolts free with power tools unless you have an impact driver and the right size bits. Even then be careful because they strip easy. Only really a problem if your gonna keep the oem fender though. And I can't stress this enough, but use thread locker(blue) on your bolts and screws. You should almost always use thread locker when working on motorcycles to begin with.People saying that the wholes are a bit small for the turn signals and have a 2018-2021 400 are wrong. It's a tight fit, but it's supposed to be a tight fit. That's one of the main components holding the turn signals on other than the brackets on the inside thst rely on the tightness of the rubber from the lights to help secure them. But yeah I'm satisfied with it and it's a cheaper product than other products on the market and gives the same results.Installed on my 2021 ninja 400

Pretty straightforward with the install. Unplug all stock wiring, filter out of the tail, take off fender, take off blinkers and tag light from stock fender, install plate, tag light, blinkers, filter wires back up into bike and tighten the bolts!Didn’t so much care for the gap for the tag light, feels a bit flimsy. But it’s screwed tightly. It’s not going anywhere but my lady was skeptical. But otherwise it worked perfectly. Bought it for her on the new 2019 400. She’s super excited not to have that giant fender on the back. We also installed a white led t10 bulb in the tag light to match the rest of the bikes lights. Thanks for a great product.Update: Have had the product for a little over a month now. Noticed my gfs tag move while we were out riding and realized the eliminator was loose. Recommend a couple lock washers or loctite as one reviewer mentioned. Still a great product! Bikes vibrate a lot, it happens.
