This is a nice, well designed combo cover and keyboard case. The keyboard (or, the case) has an embedded magnet that properly positions and retains the keyboard in the case. The Amazon Fire Tablet inserts in a silicone surround which will not let the tablet fall out. The case feels well designed and protective and opens wide for use in either the portrait or landscape position on your lap, though, the keyboard is designed to rest on/in the case for landscape use.

My old Fire tablet case needed to be replaced so I thought I would give this one a try. Not overly impressed with it.At first glance it looks like a good case. You have the case and the keyboard. After charging the keyboard connected it to the tablet. The tablet connected easily to the keyboard.You have to click on the key with the padlock to unlock the tablet. There is no open/close magnet with this case.It is hard to get the pen into the elastic pen holder. You have to get something into the loop to expand it so you can get the pen to slide in. On the other hand, it is secure because the elastic is so tight.The keys do require more than just a light touch. You do have to exert some pressure for the keys to acknowledge they have been pressed. I have been typing and looked up to find out that half the keys had not registered the keystroke.Using the case for a stand has not worked out that well for me. No matter how I have tried to position the Fire Tablet it will slide and fall. The little grooves are not deep enough to hold the Kindle in place.It does have the opening so you can charge the Fire Tablet easily while in the case.
