I have a 1971 Buick Skylark with a 350 in it and a couple weeks ago I realized my oickdown was never hooked up because it was sheared at the gas pedal! Once I installed it and connected it to the gas pedal it made a HUGE difference in driving. The car felt much more alive and I actually had a passing gear! Ita crazy how much of a difference it made!Just remember this connects to the GAS PEDAL not the throttle on the carburetor. Also do not worry about making any adjustments or needing the retainer clips, there is a crimped metal thing on the end that connects to the gas pedal that is at almost the perfect place to fully engage the kickdown cable. All I had to do what add in a small zip tie around the cable right behind the crimp to make it engage 100%. Other than that I am very satisfied with this.
