10/10 would recommend. It’s pretty small so I can fit it in my school backpack and it’s cute

A stranger recommended this to me (we were getting pedicures and she was reading on her Kindle Paperwhite) and when I asked how she liked it, she said she loved it...so I decided to give it a try. I absolutely love the size and convenience! Bought a universal feux leather cover that looks and works great together. Very happy with this product.

This basic Kindle device is very affordable and compact, it serves the purpose for me. The screen is all in black and white and that's fine by me, the fonts can be adjusted for a suitable reading format.

I have to admit, I'm impressed! You cannot tell that this is a used Kindle. Pristine condition. No idea of the condition of the battery, as it just arrived today, but as clean as this Kindle is, I'm hopeful that the battery will be in as good shape as the shell. The case I ordered will be here tomorrow, so will continue the 'well kept' condition. All in all, I've very pleased with this purchase.

Let me preface this review with this; I have three Kindles. I have a 7 gen Kindle I bought from eBay for $32, I have a new Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition I bought during Black Friday last year, and now I have this one. The device info says it is a 10th gen Kindle Paperwhite. My issues with this device are:The device info shows it started with just 6.23gb of usable space instead of the advertised 8gb. If you are just downloading epub files to it, not a big deal, it will still hold a lot. But, it is false advertising and if you want to use the audiobook feature it will be a noticeable dent in your space for those.I've had it now for 3 hours. It as arrived about 74% charged and due to the type of battery it has, I will be running it down completely before recharging the first time (this can help maximize your battery health). My concern is that it is already at 52% and it takes literally days and days of use for my other Kindles to drop this much. Granted, I was completing set up, registering my account, and uploading books so, heavier wifi use compared to just reading so, I'm going to give it a chance and keep an eye on it but, it's concerning. Quick tip: read your books on airplane mode and the battery will last longer. Look online for other battery saving tips because there are some tricks. There are SEVERAL blemishes on my screen. These are more noticable because I read in dark mode to save my eyes in bed. These are not dead pixels, these are deep surface layer scratches that have damaged the screen. Not too happy about that because my older and cheaper Kindle from eBay came with no scratches.Even though I have it set to refresh on every page turn to help limit the typical e-ink ghosting, it is still ghosting sometimes fairly noticably. This could be an indication that my screen is about to freeze up like some of the other reviews complained about. Time will tell. If it happens within the next few months, I'll try to come back and update. If I get 6 months of good use out of it, I'll be a bit disappointed but I'll accept that since I paid $50 and it only took a couple days to get here which is why I risked Amazon over eBay, I was being impatient. My positive notes:This Kindle actually responds faster than my new Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition! I'm over here turning pages quickly with the lightest touch, when my new Kindle Paperwhite Signature seems to think a second before responding or it jumps pages. I haven't experienced that with this one yet so, I'm surprised and pleased with that.I didn't realize when I bought it that this edition supports audiobooks as well, so that was another pleasant surprise. But, maybe it doesn't count because it was only a surprise on a part of my lack of noticing on the description but, still, I'm happy it has this feature because I didn't expect it on this older edition.Overall, I have to give it about a C+ right now. Which is probably in line with Amazon's grading for a refurbished, used condition device. If it continues operating flawlessly and the battery lasts at least a week of normal use, then I can overlook the moderately scratched screen. If it starts to have OS or performance issues though, it will have been a waste over just waiting and taking my chances on eBay. However, $50 was at least $15 cheaper than any eBay current listings I had seen before I decided on this one so, I felt like taking the gamble.I love Kindles and this one is meant to be for my Horror/Thriller collection since I have other ones in better condition, I don't mind the condition of this one too much. If this were my first Kindle however, I would have been disappointed. If it's your first Kindle, consider waiting for an Amazon sale and buying a new one so you get the full, unflawed experience. During Prime Day the base Kindle was $70 new and judging by my experience with this purchase, that one would be worth the wait and the $20 more.
