Worked perfectly out of the box. Used some silicone tube for the front air boot , 1.75 inch I.D. to 2 inch I.D. adapter ….Amazon has these. I trimmed mine down to about an inch and an eighth at the transition. And use the printed adapter to the airbox… it’s on an auction site. To make installation easier , pull the muffler and pipe, remove the two lower bolts from the rear triangle and swing it up, , move the ignition module attached to the frame out of the way it’s attached with two10 mm bolts. I replaced my throttle cables for this job. It made things easier.

Did not come with a 160 jet, instead I got two 170 jets. Had to spend another $20 to get the correct jet for my setup.

No problems putting in my 2009 Suzuki DRZ400 SM. Put in the jets, that were included, for my kind of riding and location. Added an adjustable air fuel screw at the bottom so I can tweak. All good in over 10 rides since late January 2024. Oh, added a Boyesen Quickshot2. Had to file off a bit to make fit.

Great carb. Work on and rode bikes for 50 years this carb was installed on 2017 DRZ with no problems.

As you may know since you’re probably looking at this for your DRZ400S/SM, throttle response on the stock carb isn’t great. This FCR clone works great for those on a budget. I do recommend purchasing a couple different additional parts for plug and play fitment. A factory DRZ400E intake boot (carb-cylinder) is necessary to retrofit this to an S/SM. I also purchased a 3D printed adaptor from an online auction site (you know the one) for a good fit from the inlet side to airbox (black piece shown in second pick). Be a little patient and creative getting it in place and you’ll be rewarded with good fitment. Stock push and pull cables hook right up (this requires a little patience too due to tight space). Comes with plenty of jets to tune for your needs. Main jet that came installed was a 165, I chose to bump it up to 170 since I have 3x3 mod and full FMF exhaust.

I put this in my 2018 DRZ 400sm. The amount of torque I gained is very noticeable. Well worth the money.A little tight to install but not bad at all. Need to get some tubing 2 1/2 “ id intake manifold tubing which I got at the local auto parts store and some clamps.I live at sea level and used the 45 idle jet and 160 main, I have full exhaust and air box mod.Hope this helps someone. In a nutshell spend the money it’s a cheap power gain.

The carburetor is not pictured with a choke, but mine came with one installed, which was pleasing. I bought this carb after watching a motocheese video. Buy on my install I took it a step further and purchased the correct vacuum port for the pet cock and the correct air box adapter. You’ll need an iron gas well for the air box adapter. Another purchase I made was an extended fuel/air screw for an fcr carb, but unfortunately it doesn’t fit. It interferes with the large cap on the bottom of the float bowl.

I knew mounting this to my bike would take a little work and thought, but thanks to Motocheez, I knew what I was in for. The power increase was more-than-noticable over the stock BSR36, even with the JD Jet kit installed. The carb also come complete with a wide assortment of main and pilot jets, and as a bonus, also has the adjustable Pilot Air Jet/Screw, that is easily accessible with a long, thin screw driver under the red intake bell. The stock throttle cables can also be used. I also opted to move both upper motor mounts to the left side of the engine for a little more working space. My only complaint and the reason for four stars is it's more finicky to tune than the stock BSR36, plus an annoying hanging idle that I'm having a heck of a time tuning out. I'm about 80% there and have confirmed multiple times, no intake air leaks.
