I bought Kobalt mower 8 years ago. The battery that came with it lasted that long. I decided to buy an extra battery pretty sure one would not last 45 minutes on a spring lawn. I was correct so I bought an extra battery to be sure and it’s 8 years old. I’ve been able to do my lawn for 8 years using two fully charged batteries. I have 3 now since I bought kobalt blower 7 years ago and they are interchangeable. That battery still working.This spring I noticed the older batteries are starting to deplete their charge faster. Still got good power. I go through 3 now with one mowing. So I ordered 2 new Kobalt batteries last week. Both are as good as the original ones were 7 years ago. I hope I will get the longevity with these as I did with my first ones.The price through Amazon is reasonable.

An update on the issue described below...I kept on this issue with another contact to Kobalt directly to see if there was any wiggle room (answer=no), then confirmed that the email address of Office 133 (the seller on Amazon) had been discontinued, the phone number no longer in operation, and physical mail to their address legally required as an LLC going unanswered. Office LLC does a terrific job of hiding from the possibility of customer service. I also found out that every email address to Amazon regarding customer service only points you to their online chat or phone system which has three more times ended in a dead end because none of the reps says the customer service reps say they have the ability to connect me "up the ladder". No one at Amazon wants to solve the problem either or give me a way to access their seller. HERE'S SOME ADVICE: IF YOU ARE AT ALL CONCERNED ABOUT A WARRANTY FOR AN EXPENSIVE PRODUCT LIKE THIS ONE, ALWAYS BUY FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND NOT SOME RESELLER WHO WILL BECOME INVISIBLE!The original review: this Kobalt battery comes with a 3-year warranty and it worked just fine for about a little less than 2 years. I at first contacted Kobalt directly (a Lowes division) and their warranty policy is that the warranty becomes the responsibility of the product seller, which in this case is Amazon through one of their "sellers". I understand I am well beyond Amazon's return period but the warranty is still in effect and now I have to get someone to honor that warranty. I've now made three calls to Amazon to try to solve my problem. After getting bumped up the ladder to someone with more warranty claim authority I was issued a "ticket" and the promise that I would hear from someone in about a week. That didn't happen so in ten days I called again and went through another hour long call that got bumped up to a warranty specialist and then the phone went dead. Today I called again and got bumped up to the warranty specialist and asked for the contact information on Amazon's "seller" which I have a name and physical address for listed on Amazon but no phone number. The warranty specialist gave me a phone number which I called and was told the number was disconnected. It's as if no one has responsibility and the "seller" is hiding from customer service. Amazon's reputation is at stake here in not policing the "sellers" that essentially parade as Amazon giving Amazon a bad name when they won't stand behind their products and hide their contact accessibility.
