I have a Toro 22" recycler mower with the Kohler motor, and had this gasket fail. I've had a lot of mowers over the years and never had a sump gasket fail on ANY mower until now. This one blew out after 5 or 6 seasons. I don't believe this is a mark against Kohler though, but likely a bad gasket.I didn't feel like scrapping the mower, and wasn't ready to pay almost the cost of a new mower to take it to the lawn & garden repair center, so I decided order this and install it myself.It was actually a fairly easy repair, since you don't have to mess with anything that requires adjustments.This went on where the old one came off just like it should.There are differing opinions on whether to use sealant or not, but I highly recommend sealing it SPARINGLY just to be sure. (The issue seems to be regarding tolerances in the lower end of the motor if too much sealant is used).

Hard to say much about a paper gasket. It arrived on time & fit perfectly.
