I think they are the best brake pads. Lots of braking power. Work well in wet conditions as well.

I got a new bike and the brakes were more of a suggestion… replaced the stock pads with these bad boys… and let me tell ya, brakes work real good now.

Installation was a little tricky if you don't pay attention to the order of the pieces but once you get one then it's easy to put the other in. They stop well and look good and the price was right. Little squeaking on the front but I'm not sure if that's my bike or the pads because the backs are not squeaking.

The product itself seemed okay. But the description online was incorrect. It said it included "Knurl-lockª washer system" which it did not. The picture online showed the washers as part of the product also. It was a sealed package and they were not included.

These Kool Stop black shoes were purchased for the overhaul of an aged but high quality mountain bike. Despite Amazon's product description, they have unthreaded posts for cantilever style brakes.Kudos to Kinkosh for low price and fast service. I purchased one set of black/salmon dual compound shoes at the same time because Kinkosh only had one of the Black's in stock. The Black's are on the rear and the dual compound shoes are on the front. So far, the Black's appear to be superior, offering more grab with less effort on the brake lever. They are very easy to control.
