My horses use to pull hay from the round bale, step on it, pee and poop in it and generally waste a bunch. I put a bale in this net and there was virtually no waste. Get this if you want to save your hay from your freeloading horses

The round bale pictured is about 4"8" by 4'6". The hay net easily fits over it. The net is a really nice quality and came with a carrying case. We'll eventually roll the bale through the gate and under cover when they stop eating grass...probably after the summer.Sure, the hay net will slow our gelding and mare down a bit and make them really pull the hay which is good for their teeth. However, the biggest goal for us is to keep the bale together better than our hay ring does. They start pulling the bale apart and there is just a mess outside the hay ring. When they step on it and drive it into the sand, too much of the hay has to be scooped up and thrown away.We're hoping this net provides a better answer. We can see how the horses will have a tough time pulling hay outside the net which should help us get the most out of these expensive horse quality hay. We like it.

This round bale hay net does save quite a bit. My horses are actually pretty good about eating their hay. Instead I needed a net to slow down one of my geldings in particular. This net absolutely does that. I am pleased with the quality for my horses and I think it also protects their aged teeth.
