This is a simple basic tool. It’s one that a lot of people who sharpen their lawnmower blades fail to use. Eventually they wonder why their mower vibrates so badly. Literally all you do is put the cone on the stand and add the blade. If one side of the blade is lower than the other it is heavier and needs a little ground off until it is no longer heavier. I’ve had this type of tool that was plastic but sometimes they weren’t as accurate. This one is metal and works great and should last a long time.

A good basic balancer that came in useful when I recently changed by mower blade. I wanted to check the balance on the new blade but also clean up and sharpen the old one. The old blade had some serious chunks out of it so this helped me grind off the right amount to make everything balanced again. You might not use this often but it might save your mower from shaking itself apart.

I love this little ingenious doo-dad. It replaces a cheap plastic version that I had, and I'm very happy with the item's balance and value. It has a more substantial weight to it that makes me feel like it's doing a better job than the plastic one.In case you don't know, these are simple to use, you just place your mower blade's center hole on the tip of the pyramid after sharpening to ensure that it's still balanced. If it's not, then you keep sharpening until it is.

Well this is something I didn't even realize existed until I stumbled upon it on Amazon. Very helpful product, this is made from solid metal and is a great way to balance your mower blade. So - this clearly advertises that it is meant for blades with a round center hole, which is what I thought I had, but apparently I remembered incorrectly, mine is a bowtie style. So, I can confirm it won't work right with the bowtie style because you can't exactly align it to the center of the hole. But I'm confident it will work well with a single center hole.

I remember seeing one of these years ago when I was doing some work for the local lawn mower, repair shop and thought it was a cool gizmo so when I stumbled across this on Amazon I thought I'd get one. Previously, I haven't bothered to balance my blades on any of the mowers I've owned. I would usually just clamp them in a vice, use a good file and eyeball them by removing as little as possible to get them sharp again. This little balancer shows you though just how uneven your eyeballing is, lol. I never really noticed any heavy vibration so maybe the mower doesn't need them that perfectly balanced but this thing is a game changer if you're looking for precision!It appears well made, although a little small compared to the one I remember. It seems balanced precisely before ever putting a blade on it. For $10 it is worth the piece of mind knowing you won't be prematurely wearing out your bearings.

Nice little blade balancer, definitely adequate for most everyone. I'm not one who believes every blade must be perfectly balanced, but whenever I have to grind out some damage from a blade I give it a balance. One issue with this style of balancer is that not every blade hole size will work perfectly, as the steps/bevels on the cone can't fit every size. This is the case with the blades from one of my tractors shown in the photos here. Center hole is 11/16, this cone has 1", 7/8, 3/4, 5/8, 1/2, etc. Still, for those 11/16" blades I just eyeballed the center, which worked well.

Although there are many ways to balance a mower blade without buying anything this is by far worth the purchase. It made balancing my blades way easier this year and I felt confident on the performance of my blades when it was done sharpening and balancing them. I have to say I was not disappointed when I turned on my mower for the first time after using this to balance them, the mower was smoother and quieter than I have ever heard it. I did buy blades off of amazon last year and for new they were a long ways from balanced however even after I balanced them with a screw in the wall this made the deck feel like it was not even on when I engaged the PTO. Well worth getting.
