It sure lasts a long time. It just doesn’t work. No instructions. The trap door is too hard for vermin to activate it. It’s a piece of crap.

Work on my first try, but raccoon twisted the 2 rods. Bent the trigger plate. Now the trap doesn’t work as easy. Get something more sturdy.

Works great! We’ve had a skunk stealing turkey eggs every night and never seem to catch him in the act. Put out the trap last night, woke up to a trapped skunk. Worth the price, metal materials are strong.

Arrived in a generic box. No instructions. Totally disassembled. Assembly not obvious. Went to YouTube for help but the exact product couldn’t be found. Product seemed to have been previously opened and returned (used). Watermarks all over solid parts. Did not return because I needed it right away. Not sure about trap effectiveness because even though I set it up and put it out, I haven’t caught anything. Yet skunks dance around and on my porch several times a night.

I found this trap to be very sturdy, but difficult to use. the problem was that the trigger mechanism is at the far end of the entrance and there was no way to reach it conveniently. It took several days to catch the Raccoon. I was finally able to bait the trigger plate with a cat food can that I positioned using a broom handle. The Raccoon was VERY LEERY of the trap and I had to position a trail of "Baited Cans" outside and into the trap. Of course my cat, Fluff, fell victim to the trap on the second day. HE WAS VERRRRRRY UPSET!!!!!!! That Racoon kept avoiding the trap and I would sprinkle dry cat food all around and inside the trap to attract it into the trap. It would push the trap around and lift it to get to the food without entering the trap. I then positioned landscape bricks around it to keep it from moving. I have video of it literally kicking one of the smaller stones away to get to the food. That's when I placed a can directly on the plate and created a trail of cans to lead it into the trap. It finally worked! The Raccoon was trapped. It was VERRRRRRRRRRY UPSET OVER THIS!!!!! The trap kept him contained. It would stick it's paws through the bars and under the door plate. After it was relocated, I discovered that there was a second Raccoon! This time I cut and access panel into the "roof" of the trap and fixed a can to the trigger plate. I covered it with a laminated wood door (See pictures.) Let's hope this works I did the access door today.

I’ve used traps before helping with feral cats. I learned to bend hook just a bit sometimes it releases too easily. Had a possum sneak in my basement he caused no harm but he was desperate too get out. First attempt I left food normal area I left food and water he easily bumped it and it went off. Second attempt I covered it placing it by only door removed grate so he could feel the air he was trapped no issues. Released him no problem I have all sorts of critters in my yard they all have a spot but I feed them and leave water for them

We had a groundhog that was causing damage around the house. So we released him to a new location. This cage was ok. The only thing was it worried me about operating the door and releasing him. He didn’t come out and attack me he just ran away when I released him. I don’t know if I’d use this cage for raccoons. I’d be worried the animal would attack while I’m trying to open the door. The door wasn't easy for me to just open. I was scared and I’m a woman so it’s probably easier for men but being a woman I was nervous and so that didn’t help trying to get the door open without getting bit. It was first time I had ever caught and released an animal before. It worked out for me and I didn’t get bit but I was having to get to close to the animal when I was releasing him. I found later that some have better systems of operating the door to open so you don’t have to bend down so closely sticking your hand near the door as animal runs out. I found others that open the door from the top of cage so your hand isn’t down right by the animal as it exits.
