IDK. This is one of those situations where too much information can drive you crazy. I used to hang my mower blades on a finish nail and after using a portable grinder would be satisfied with the balance and move on. Not anymore. This balancer is much more precise. To the point where putting a 4x4” folded piece of paper can change the balance drastically! How does this equate to the number of passes with a file? Or half a pass with a portable grinder with a flap disc? That’s right…trial and error. So if you can donate your time to finding out then this tool will be worth it. It is to me. It makes a night and day difference to feel the mower cutting with truly balanced blades. Not to mention the reduced wear and tear on the spindle bearing(s). It’s a good tool to have and I doubt the one branded ‘Oregon’ is any better in spite of its higher asking price.

Owned this blade balancer for over 10 years, worked well, very precise, and better price the the commercial grade balancer Made in USA. Gave it away to bro-in-law during move and bought another.Don't purchase the cheaper copy Made in China for about 1/2 the price, BUY THIS MODEL MADE IN ITALY.

Works well and is definitely better than the PRC knockoffs based on feedback from Youtube and Amazon reviews. However it still wasn't perfectly balanced in IMHO but adequate to balance lawn mower blades. Would have purchased a Mag 1000 (about $400 in AU $$) but couldn't justify the price based on level of usage. I beleive the Oregon balancer is a reboxed Tecomec but don't hold me to that.

Very well made and easy to use. It takes a light grinding method to get the mower blade perfectly balanced. It’s comforting to know that all my mower blades are balanced.

There was a learning curve for me with this tool. Mine was sensitive to slight changes in position of blade. I got best results with attention to using some magnets for contact with the blade rather than random choice of magnets for contact with blade. Sensitive enough to need blade prep, like take off rust, remove burrs from mounting hole. Best lawn mower blade balancer I have used for 22" and similar blades.

Worth the $70 as opposed to the $125 Oregon one. This unit came ~90% balanced, it’s not perfect but it’s good enough for a mower as even factory sharpened blades aren’t 100% balanced. (I know because people on YouTube tested it with the more expensive Oregon model via factory blades). Both this and the Oregon one are made in Italy, I assume this is the off hours production.I previously bought a $25, returned it for a $40 one. I wasted an hour total with both models, sharpening and balancing only to find out in the end that the unit itself was unbalanced. Repositioning the blade would result in different results. Had noticeable vibrations on the mower handle. This $70 balancer has very little vibrations, worth it to keep the motor lasting as long as possible.

After trying several blade balancers from Amazon, the Chinese copy of this one and the Chinese copy of a Mag1000, the Tecomec made in Italy is one to buy. If you are looking for a good quality balancer at an economical price buy the TECOMEC MADE IN ITALY BALANCER. I have used a similar one for years that cost me $150 when purchased, and has been very reliable. This one is very identical, has good machining tolerances, holds the blade securely centered on the cone, and in testing, gives repeated identical results with every balance, unlike the others. Works flawlessly. Others either would not keep blade centered, gave different results with multiple balancing tests with the same untouched blade, or would not hold blade securely. This one passed all my quality tests and is a keeper. GOOD PRODUCT TECOMEC!!!!!NOTE: I wasn’t given anything for my review, This is an honest review. I am just tired of people getting substandard cheap copies of some items on the internet shopping sites.
