I just bought a boat and this is the standard, everyone has one and this is the popular brand. Please know that you will have to buy hardware separate if you want to put it on your rails (where you should for safety). Not much assembly required just a few bolts. The grill is very tiny, I still can't find a tray to fit inside. The grill plates are stainless? so they are very hard to clean. There isn't much room, this is a grill for two. There is no real temp control, it takes forever to heat up. It feels like a toy. It is pretty to look at but once you get something on the outside it is very hard to clean. If you are use to a real propane grill this will be frustrating. In my opinion this was not worth the money and I have regrets.

This is the second Magnum Grill that I have owned. I got seven years of service out of the first one and quite honestly it was still working however, it was a smaller version. This new grill is large enough that you can put four hamburgers and a couple hotdogs or sausages , and the heat is evenly distributed. It has a nice feature that I appreciate is this has a drip pan, whereas my older magnum did not so I don’t have any grease dripping onto the deck of my boat.We easily spend 8 to 10 hours on the boat when we’re out and having the ability to grill food instead of eating at a restaurant on the water, greatly saves money and the convenience of being able to eat what you want.

Looks great, pedestal mount fit properly. We’ll see how it performs when we get out on the water in May.

people who complain about flame ups obviously don't grill often. Yes if you cook greasy burgers its going to flare up. Turn it on low and keep a water spray bottle handy. Also keep the lid closed until ready to flip.I've cooked steaks to perfection. Brats, Cajun andoulli sausage and chicken wings. Love this thing.Very sturdy. I haven't mounted it on my boat yet as I keep changing my mind how and where to mount it. But the legs work great. The drip tray catches all the grease. This grill will be very useful for years to come.

I LOVE this grill. Burgers/dogs/steaks beat the hell out of sandwiches when you're out on the water.I had a problem paying this much for a grill at first, but it is totally worth it. If you're looking at this grill you're fully aware boat stands for Bust Out Another Thousand.I saw a competitor stainless brand at the boat show, but it was a wobbly piece of junk, the Magma is sturdy.I researched for a week & bought 2 different grills that I returned that I thought I could make work, not so much.My last boat had a black cast grill with lava rock, the rock was a pain & it always blew out.I bought the the works with this grill including the front tray, the square rail mounts, the boat mounts that hang it over the rail & the carry bag.The magma is a simple design that just works. The mounts are as close to perfection as you get for my pontoon rail, I can have it on or off in a few minutes on the water. The front tray is great for setting meat so you can arrange it on the grill & the bag is perfect for storage & taking the grill to & from the boat. It has a handle strap, a shoulder strap with a long pocket in the back for the accessory tray, mounts & utensils with compartments for 2 propane canisters & of course .The grill's heat is controllable unlike the 2 I bought and returned. I've cooked steaks really really hot or burgers & dogs on a medium-high heat, the heat is reasonably consistent across the grill. If the back of the grill is facing a good strong wind it is hard to keep the grill hot, just change anchor a bit & you're fine. I think this will be a problem with any small grill.I've had this grill for 2 boating seasons & tore it down completely for the first time today for deep cleaning. I really let it get nasty inside but was surprised on how clean I got it inside and out. The outside had a gold tint with spotting from heat but looks great again with some citrus grill cleaner & some elbow grease. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is the fact that I've had to buy a regulator & the end of last year & I'm thinking I need another again after this year. It's not the end of the world, I can get them prime for about 35.00, but this grill was not cheap. I have gotten sand in the bottom of the bag a few times so that may have caused early failure, I'm just not sure. Ordering another now that I'll keep in a ziplock with the grill.
