If you do your own blade sharpening, this tool is essential. The magnetic wall mount design makes it easy to get an accurate read on any imbalance in your mower blades. Setup is straightforward and the construction is solid—it holds the blade steady without any wobble. I’ve used it on several blade types and it worked flawlessly. It has already improved my mower’s performance by reducing vibration and uneven cutting. A fantastic buy for any garage or workshop. Just make sure the center holes of your blades are compatible.

So I bought a spare set of blades for my mower so I always have a sharp set on hand ready to pop in. Having a zero turn mower it isn’t exactly easy to get in under the deck and swap blades. This set clearly “takes inspiration” from a major market unit. One of the noticeable differences is the magnets are behind the face of the holder instead of in front. Oh well. The real question: does it work. The answer is yes. And does it work better than a nail on the wall? Also yes.For me I mounted it to a folding workbench in my garage. I put it on one of the folding legs so it was easy to put on and take off with a couple of butterfly nuts. Assembly is easy, although the instructions aren’t awesome. Basically, mount with the holes vertically aligned and the safety ‘L’ on the right. This prevents a sharp blade from spinning. After that it was easy to use by attaching a blade with the magnet and letting the blade balance itself. For me, of the 3 blades I purchased, all 3 were off balance (likely due to machining and paint) as you can see in the photo. The worst was really unbalanced. Easy enough I grabbed my grinder and put the edge back to them and voila, incredibly accurate results. If you are looking for a decent upgrade to a nail on the wall or you have a newer style of blade that doesn’t have a circle or star in the center this is the blade balancer for you.

A very well made lawnmower blade balance indicator to be used while sharpening. This unit is well painted, seems to be made of cast iron pieces as well as steel and aluminum parts. It has a very strong magnetic ring that aligns and holds any sized blade with any size hole securely. The unit also employs sealed bearings on the shaft to make balancing a much more accurate and easier task. It also comes with an attached rod for indicating whether the blade is bent or warped saving a lot of time. The unit comes with necessary hardware to mounting on a wall or in my case, to the side of my large workbench. The unit mounts vertically and indicates balance with the blade in a horizontal position. The unit worked well for me. It is made of very heavy duty materials that will last for a very long time.

This is a solid steel constructed lawn mower blade balancer, which provides greater accuracy over our old plastic tool. The base is cast with a precision ground blade balancer.

Mid Line Range of Wall Mounted Blade Balancers, there is a step to this but of course at a heftier price tag. Mounts to a wall with 2 screws. To use, this unit is magnetized so it will hold the blade and not fall off while adjusting the fit, simply move the balancing arm to the proper position so when you spin the blade you can see the blade is not bent and balanced perfectly. Overkill for a single family home, using it once a year. Idea for a small repair shop or home mechanic doing blade replacements frequently.

This is a review of the DPHXF branded Magnetic Wall Mount Blade Balancer Red Replace # 42-047 339075B Lawn Mower Blade Balancer Improved Version sold by MasdayI’m not exactly sure what has been “improved” from the previous version, but I can say the magnets are strong. It supports even the largest blades with which I have tested. The instructions are not very clear about the right angled steel bar, but after looking at some other pictures, it seems to work well as a blade stop if it spins. It takes a bit of time getting used to the back and forth, but easy enough to know which side of the blade I need to take off.

In the shop today, I’ve got the DPHXF Magnetic Wall Mount Blade Balancer Red Replace # 42-047 339075B Lawn Mower Blade Balancer Improved Version.Clearly, I think, this takes some design inspiration from Oregon’s balancer but this one sure is a nicer price point. There isn’t a whole lot to the main part of the balancer. It has some strong magnets that are plenty to hold normal size mower blades to it. I wouldn’t try to put tractor bush hog sized blades on it but anything under their weight limit should be good to go.The manual is pretty much as you’d expect being a poorly translated page of writing just short of being gibberish at times. Luckily, it’s pretty obvious how you should use it if you’ve ever balanced blades on a nail in the wall, in your life. Some things that I think the manual meant with some of its gibberish are as follows. It seems to think it’ll work as long as the blade’s mounting hole isn’t larger than 40mm/1.6”.The blades cannot weight more than 2kg/4lbs 7oz.The included little rod is meant to help make sure you have the blade on the balancer properly and that it isn’t bent by confirming one cutting edge of the blade is the same distance from the little rod as the other cutting edge. When checking for balance, if the blade moves less than 15 degrees from horizontal after releasing it then they consider it perfectly balanced.Overall this balancer should certainly be an upgrade from using a nail when balancing my blades all these years and will work much more smoothly even tho I’ve never had issue doing it that way. I probably wouldn’t use the little guide bar as I could do the same measurement off whatever surface the balancer is mounted to without having to fiddle with adjusting the bar.
