When my Polaris 280 pool cleaner stopped moving and I discovered this broken part, I assumed I would be in for a costly repair or replacement. I found the swing arm repair kit for half of what the others charged. Repair took about 5 minutes and I was back in business.

A good replacement for worn-out middle idler wheel mounting parts. The wheel and bearings come in a separate kit. Fit just as original, except that the spring was broken in this kit. I just used the old spring which was still in good shape.

I have purchased this twice. The first time was a few years ago. When I was securing the new swing arm to the new wheel, I had major challenges getting the pvc bolt tight. I assumed that I had cross threaded pvc bolt and that the difficulty I had was my fault. However, that was not the case. I purchased a second one (the first one did last a year or so) and the difficulty installing the pvc bolt into the wrong was more challenging than the first time. Ultimately I returned and purchased one made by Polaris. Saving a few dollars it not worth the headache. Get Original parts to save grief.

Great fit for my 2800. It is amazing what a difference new parts make on these pool cleaners. Mine is 8 years old and every now and then a part will break or wear out. So far it has been a matter of replacing the old parts with new ones, like this. This had me up and running like new!

When you need to do a repair of pool equipment, you usually need to do it quickly. This part was delivered within 2 days as promised and our Polaris was up and running in 5 minutes!

The only thing to note is, the screw that holds the upper part of the spring should not be screwed all the way down! I messed that up and then could't get the lower part of the body back on. Super easy to figure out but now you have learned from my mistake! I still have more maintenance to do on the machine (anyone who owns one will understand) but it definitely is running more easily with this replacement.
