This is a well made product, feels robust. Two complaints: 1) the one I received was about .5 mm out of square in a 30 cm length, I had to unscrew the bar that attaches to the saw guide and calibrate it from scratch. 2) there are no positive stops on any angle, not even 90 degrees, so you need some reference equipment to set it. If you plan on cutting many different angles this item can be useful, if you only plan on cutting square, you are probably better off with a dedicated square guide.

Box came very damaged, but doesn't seem to be any damage to the Mitre gauge. Works great

It does not securely attach to the track! There is a wedge shaped piece of plastic that you’re supposed to press into the guide rail. It’s only held in by friction. It does not want to go into the slot. If it does, it’ll be hard to reposition or to get off and presents the risk of bending the track while removing it. After some use, wear on the plastic may make it easer to insert but that will also degrade accuracy.About the only thing this does is position the track. To do that you need a lot of edge well beyond the width of the track. Then you need to remove it to before making the cut if it has become loose. If you don’t remove it before making the cut, vibration and fouling with the cord or vacuum hose is likely to knock it off.In summary, it’s poorly engineered and not up to Makita standards. It costs a load of money that I paid expecting some sort of value. Instead, I got something that is frustrating to attempt using and puts my material and guide rails at risk. It does NOTHING for me. Save your money. Buy an aftermarket version instead.Makita needs to provide a retrofit kit and a formal letter of apology to everyone that purchased this product on the strength of Makita’s otherwise admirable reputation.

Den är nästan oanvändbar. Den sitter inte fast i skenan vilket gör att allt rör sig.

This accessory is just horrible. First, it attaches with just a light press fit into the track. As soon as you pick the track up it falls off. Second, the scale is off by at least 2 degrees and is not adjustable. I set the miter set to 90 degrees and placed it on the slab I was cross cutting. Stepped back and looked at it. Looked off. Got my machinist square and measured the track to the face of the slab and it was not even close. Set the track with the machinist square and tighten the miter gauge and it was off. Ok, just need to align the scale. Nope. No adjustment for aligning the scale. Total piece of trash.

There's no postive stop for certain angles, and there's nothing that physically locks into your track. It's a friction fit and at that point you might as well line up a square cut with a framing square and connect points with a straight edge for everything else. That's too bad because the track literally has a spot for clamps to lock in. Why not just lock this in similarly? Disappointed

It works extremely well. Already cut several pieces of plywood at different angles using this miter guide coupled to my Makita tracks. I can attest to its accuracy by measuring the cut angles with an angle finder that I swear by. Some people may consider it a little pricey abu it does live up to its purpose.

I probably wont end up using this very much. I use the Makita track saw on almost every job but I find it is easier to use a 12" speed square to get 90 degree cuts. I might use it for angled cuts, but those are rare for me.I tried using this on the occasional angled cut but There is a plastic rail at sit in a channel on the Makita track. On my guide the rail refused to fit in the track at all. I imagine if I took the rail off and turned it upside down and slid it in from the end it may work better. But there is play in the connection and I find it hard to believe this is actually accurate as others have pointed out it has no indents and the screw moved every time its knocked a wee bit. In addition it only works on larger pieces of wood due to the huge size of this and its clumsiness.

I've been very satisfied with my Makita track saw but wanted an easy-fast way to get guaranteed square cuts or the occasional angle without tedious measuring and marking. So i was delighted when I received this. It fits the Makita track securely and it is very well made. The locking screw is solid and hold the guide firmly. But then I discovered there are no detents for common angles like 90, 45 or 22.5.The markings are clear and easy to read, but without precise and secure detents they cannot possibly provide great accuracy over the 55 inch length of the track. So that means, you have to adjust this angle guide for every series of cuts. Luckily, that is not difficult or time consuming.I use a LARGE plastic drafting square for angles like 45, 30 or 60 degrees. For 90 degree angles, use us a reliable steel framing square. That's plenty accurate enough, but I still find myself double-checking critical cuts through measurement. So, I would have given this accessory FIVE stars IF they had detents at those important common angles. As it is, the guide attaches quickly and works great. Since I primarily use the track saw ( and hence this guide) for 90 degree angles, I just keep it set for 90 degrees after adjusting it once.Mafell and Festool angle guides both have detents. How could Makita have missed this crucial feature?Another gripe is there are no written instructions. They just have a single sheet of picto-grams that do little to explain anything. Maybe I got a return and they lost the instructions...Oh well... If I wasn't so cheap. I would have bought the Mafell and just been done with it. Maybe after the last of four kids is through college I'll start investing in Mafell tools... or take a trip to Hawaii.... hmmm.
