Gave seller the exact information for my truck. When the installer goes to connect the wiring harness the pin configuration on the products wiring harness is WRONG !! The installer had to take an additional 2 hours to trace the factory wiring harness to connect the proper wire from the harness provided. For over $300 for this product it SHOULD FIT PROPERLY !!!!!!! Would not buy again.

I bought this to add a carplay capable unit to my 2014 F150 XLT. The install isn't bad, some of the instructions were out of date but their support was sufficient to get it going. The issues are around the module/HVAC controls screen needing to be reset almost daily. It is related to temperature for me, but when it's colder than about 40F it just can't keep settings and I have to reset the steering wheel controlls/Radio type a lot, sometimes multiple times a day. Metra claims to not have a problem but even after firmware upgrades and trying to work through it for months they just blame it on my pickup. I've tried for months to figure it out and am done, it's going back to them in a box with a note. I know the 4dtech.com solution for OEM Sync 3 4 to 8 inch is expensive, but it's even more expensive when you throw $700 away on this piece of junk first.

Keeps on trying to automatically connect the steering wheel controlAnd when i start the truck it changes the heat seeting and position .Tried to get help from customer service bit nothing to helpfull

Took a chance and bought it used. Packaging was okay but upper mounting tabs were broken. I do not know if it was in transit or repackaged that way. If they packaged it this way then they need to review the thinking of "used - very good". In a knee jerk I started a return and was going to return it until I checked it out a bit closer. The vent housings on the side of your 13-14 F150 dash WILL hold it in place without movement. Tabs on the bottom will hold it too. Make sure the clips that go into the dash are not broken (6 of them), you have the metal mounting clips that go onto these plastic clips and the rest of the pieces parts are there. This has its design flaws like cheap plastic tabs but those of us who own a 2013 or 2014 f150 with the 4 inch screen are limited on options that don't cost a grand or more! Follow the directions to install, its not difficult. Be sure to update the software on the HVAC controls. I haven't and I cannot get my steering wheel controls to work properly and it MAY be causing a parasitic drain on my battery after several days of none use. Will update the review once I know for sure.The HVAC controls work fine. One answer I could not find beforehand was will this work if you have added remote start to your f150... Good news is yes it will!I definitely feel it is overpriced for the build quality and quirks but we'll see if it holds up!All in all if you really hate sync one in your truck, like me, this was worth a shot.

This dash kit works great. I installed it myself with a 9" Jensen radio. The screen was bigger than what Meta recommends and it was harder to install. The Meta recommended 7" screen would have been easier. It's great to have a dash kit to replace my old crappy small 4" Ford radio. Music sounds good. Apple Carplay works great.

The Metra kit is on of the better looking dash kits for these year f150s. I disassembled the old radio with a 10mm socket, 7mm socket, a Phillips screwdriver, and some plastic pry tools. The instructions are pretty decent. When it says 2 red wires, it means the 2 from the two different harness sections. I soldered all of my connections, and I used the built in screen for the backup camera because it had better clarity than the cheap Boss head unit that I purchased separately. It works well with steering wheel controls with only minor quirks. Sync is theoretically still fully functional if you wanted to use it independently of your selected head unit. Sync mostly integrates well into my setup. If I could change anything, I wish that had an extra plate for the bottom of the facia that could accent the small storage area. It will serve well for the USB hookups and microphone. I'll include photos if I decide to add that. Also, lining up my double din radio with the supplied brackets was fairly time consuming given the angles available.Overall, good buy!

Product received with a broken (right bracket) top plastic screw bracket was found broken in the box upon opening the box. I made it work, because I didn’t want to wait for another item to replace this one.
