It doesnt have the feel of the "military" kind but it is accurate. No leaking fluid, straight pins, takes a bit of getting used to the view finder but its good. The only thing I didnt like was I could not put the compass down "flat" on a map due to the thumb holder, and the plastic rings dont look durable.

After a hurricane here in Florida, all the road signs were down. Since then, I keep a campus with me all the time.

This review is for the YEHOBU Survival Compass. Date 7/23Okay, I am one that reads as many reviews as I can find on an item before deciding if that item is worth buying. One review about this item remained with me, and that review stated that this compass was a bit on the heavy side. Well, that reviewer was not incorrect in their assessment. This compass is indeed on the heavy side for its size. For me, that weight translates into a well build compass that I doubt that a monkey could break. Well made is an understatement. So, if you're looking for a very good compass, for not a lot of money, this compass is well worth a look. On the other hand... I must agree that this compass, although very well made, most likely isn't what a backpacker that is concerned about the weight of the gear that they are carrying would choose. Make no mistake, this little compass is on the heavy side.I seriously doubt that I'd ever be in need of another compass, unless I lose this one.Hope this review helps.

Better than the pictures. Looks strong and well build. I will try it on my next hunting trip. So far, I am 😊

I bought this for my boyfriend's Montana hunting trip. It is very durable and held up on miles long mountain hikes.

Okay for what it is and the price I just wish it was better made but it works just fine

I really like the bottom sight feature. It allows me to sight visually at a point and see the headings without trying to look down on the compass. I have used it several times to verify boundary lines on my property. I will say, that it read about two degrees off from a know reference line. ( This was after making allowance for magnetic deviation in my area of North America. ) Once I established that it was off, I simply factored that deviation into my readings. It allowed me to find a couple of old survey pins I had been looking for, without buying an expensive GPS device.

It is made of refined steel and has a floating oil scale. It is very sensitive to the horizontal height, so small bubbles can be seen and set. There is no battery for the light. Power cord attached. Not disappointed. I use it to find traces. Well made, value for money action and design - much better than department store trash, and not having to worry about batteries like GPS.
