This is my second one of the Laurel Burch kits, and I really fell in love with them after working the first one. I was worried about the fact that it’s linen instead of Aida cloth, but I found that I like working with the linen. It was a little confusing when I put in the first stitches, but after that it’s easy to follow from the stitches above. Just don’t try to count out in space more than a few stitches — I’m very careful to work from the previously stitched areas! The linen has an advantage of being easier to get the needle through when you’re working an area with beads and backstitches on top of cross stitch. For the person who complained about the pattern not being in color, that’s easily remedied with some inexpensive watercolor brush pens. I do find that the color helps.

I didn't pay close enough attention when I ordered. I assumed the cloth was going to be Aida cross stitch fabric. Wrong -- it is linen. I tried to complete the pattern and I just couldn't work with that. Very difficult. Only solution I came up with is to put waste cross stitch fabric over the top of the linen and do the stitching that way. So be sure you read the description of the item very carefully!

Overpriced. I received a square of linen with worn off-colored fold marks in the middle, a few beads, tiny amount of embroidery floss, and a chart that wasn't even in color. Save your money. Worthless.
