USCG regulations require all battery boxes to be securely fastened to the deck and the vent opening must not be obstructed.

It is a well constructed box. However, the dimensions given for it are at the widest of the opening. I had two larger batteries that I measured and should have fit side by side. I found that the contours in the box made it smaller and I had to cut sections to make it work. The dimensions given should have been for the most narrow of points, not the widest. It worked for me, however, if anyone else is looking to put two batteries for diesel motors in this box....think again!

Picture shows the box being a white-ish grey color which is what my customer wants on his immaculate 52' sport fishing boat that you can literally eat off the floor of his engine room. The boxes shipped/delivered are black in color. Pictures and lack of information misrepresent what the boxes are. Very disappointing, especially since it's for my customer in a time crunch situation, and not just for myself.
