This part is NOT a coolant temperature sensor. It is an Outdoor Air Temperature sensor. Don't know why Amazon can't figure this out. Works exactly as expected.

I should know better. I tried to save a couple bucks by getting a non-Ford branded sensor. Mistake. The slightly cheaper unit always read about 6 degrees too high. I tried to live with it but I think it was playing mind games with my automatic climate control system (as well as other things that rely on knowing outside temperature) so I finally tossed the cheaper unit and bought this one. Problem solved.You'd think after 52 years I would know better. I hate buying stuff twice. I should've bought this one the first time!

This item is mislabeled as a coolant temperature sensor. It is the factory ambient air temperature sensor. It was simple to install, just unplug the faulty one and replace with this one.

This is an ambient air temperature sensor, but labeled as an engine coolant temperature sensor. Bought this for my Ford Focus, but it doesn't use this sensor. It's used to tell you what the outside temperature is, not what the engine temperature is.
