If you need something like this to mark your takes on video for youtube, this is great. It eliminates the need to clap in front of the camera. Plus if you wanted to write something you could, but you would really want to do it in something easily removable like a whiteboard pen.

To this day I still have no clue what should be used to write on this product. I screwed up by not checking to see if it was a dry-erase surface, which it wasn't. Pencil didn't work, neither did sharpie, highlighter, dry-erase marker, chalk, or charcoal. It was all unerasable after the moment it touched the film slate.Do not recommend unless you plan on using it once and throwing it out.

First, the image in my review is what the slate/ clapper actually looks like, not the first image shown, which is what I ordered it based on.I bought this for work, working in the film industry, and it looks like a normal slate in the main photo of course, till you scroll 4 or 5 photos down and that’s what I received, which is 2x larger. when what will be actually ordered is what should be the first photo.Even if saying it could be used as a “party decoration,” I still thought I was getting what was first pictured and that definitely wasn’t the case!It should just be listed as a “party decoration” and only costing $5, because not only was it not usable, it was damaged and abnormally sized.It was way larger than what was in the main photo, damaged (picture) of grey scuff marks, and it also said to use a felt tip pen and it would be erased, which I didn’t even try to not risk it because I knew I already would be returning it, and that not even making sense with it being wipeable like a normal slate on any way, ON TOP OF not even wanting to pull this out in front of the crew, out of embarrassment of the size, ect.And of course, right before it arrives, I leave for two months last minute for a job and this wasn’t opened till past 30 days, but I still am reaching out to return this and for a full refund! Worse $20 I’ve ever spent 🤦🏻♀️

LA calidad es pobre, es simplemente de ornato. La claqueta no es nítida en sonido y se safa. la terminé devolviendo. es más un adorno para tu cuarto que algo para trabajar y eso lo deberían poner en la descripción.

Yeah, this thing showed up broken in half. Also, it is not a dry erase board like it looks. But that is my fault for not reading the description carefully. We are living in a weird futuristic hell where we can get anything we want for cheap but it is all crap. The future is weird.

The description says it's a must have for directors and bloggers. However, it tells you in the description that this is made of fiberboard. It is NOT a dry erase surface. We adjusted for this by putting contact paper over it. We tested the contact paper first, to make sure we could use dry erase markers on it. It would be nice if the company would put a paper in the packaging that reminded me that it was not a dry erase board, because I had planned on buying a dry erase one and thought that was the one I had ordered. You'd think from the texture I would know this, but I was excited and wrote on it before realizing my error.

This product did not come with the magnet shown, and did not come with the pen and eraser. I have no idea what I can use to write on it.
