When I got to my unit out of basic, I wasn’t assigned all of my TA50, which so happened to not include a proper ruck. I was assigned the medium ruck, which just didn’t have enough space for anything longer than 4 or 5 days in the field, give or take.I bought this to hopefully give me that space, and was blown away by how well it holds up. It has a zipper flap within the main compartment that allows separation of materials packed which makes organization easier than the standard issued rucks. They shoulder straps as well as the hip pads feel great and breathable, which makes longer ruck marches feel ten times easier than with the medium ruck. Couldn’t recommend this more.

Update-After a taking this pack with 44.6lbs fully loaded on a 3 day hike, with rain and nickel sized hail. I can promise you no straps break or issues with frame breaking like others have stated. ROCK SOLID PACK, i'm sure if you load it to 35+lbs and throw it off a truck or something then yes it'll likely crack something. I haven't had one issue.Original Review -I took a huuuuge risk, I ordered this bag since I typically am an avid molle attach all my stuff to the outside of a smaller 25L type pack. I've done this for years on very lengthy and strenuous hikes/camps/etc. I'm not a vet nor a military guy just ur avg 5'10 175lb red neck. Let me tell you something, if you're on the fence drop the hammer and buy this pack. I stripped the sustainment bags and waist bag off to save weight and still with food and all my gear didn't fill up the main compartment. The frame fits like it was custom made to my frame, that absolute priceless part for me, the cherry on top was that the pack sits higher up on me and I can fully adjust everything straps etc. With ~35-38lbs loaded it's a dream to haul around. I thought I was wasting so much $ and I'd hate it bc I'm used to small day type bags with everything molle strapped on but pheeeew this bag is good. It took me a sec to get used to the more open concept, I may utilize a pull out molle board for better organization but man let me tell you for ur avg civilian this bag is what you need. Only my wife could have more s*** than what this thing can hold. Buy it super high quality!

The ruck does its job for under 40lbs, after that it starts to fall apart. The strap release comes undone over 35lbs so I had to super glue them from opening. And at 55lbs to be exact, the frame cracked at the bottom. If you're in the military and actually ruck, do not buy. (Unless you need for CIF/gear turn in. They usually don't check the nsn) Also, once you tighten up the ruck to prevent weight shifting , the frame will show and give signs of distress and possibly break if too tight (as mentioned above). But overall if you're going lighter than 35lbs, don't ruck regularly, and like to cosplay it does the job.

After reading some reviews you start to worry. You don't want to speed good money on junk and have it break quickly. I am not sure what barbarians broke their bag so quickly and since that is/was the case they would have broke the issued bags as well. The feel of the fabric is very similar to the army issued bags. It repels water like a champ.... I poured water on it myself and it did very well. The negatives are, if read any other reviews, that the logo is prominently placed on the magazine and grenade pouches. All you need is a finger nail and a lot of patience or a knife a a moderate amount of patience. You can scrape it off. Another negative is the waist straps are super long on the ruck. You can fold them over and use the stretchy fastener to hold it down but they are long.I'd bet this company got ahold of the army issued gear and did their best to replicate everything exactly. They nailed it. Recommend getting the assault bag and all of its goodies if you need/ want a set of your own or need to fool the people at CIF. Chances are very good they wouldn't notice. Get it. I did a lot of research before purchase. Very happy with my purchase. The reviews talking about not authentic and no nsn #, ignore them. Obviously if your in the military purchasing your own ruck you’re not worried about an nsn number unless you’ve lost yours and trying to use this one to turn back in to supply during our processing. Go to eBay and pay more for your lack of responsibility. If you’re purchasing because you’re tired of the ACU pattern ruck or the one you were issued was used, this is a great purchase. I checked the buckles and everything is in great condition. The padding is comfortable, the buckles all work, the extra goodies was a plus, the quality is excellent, and the frame is just as durable as the one I was issued. Yes, it comes from China.... if you’re not ok with that, go elsewhere. I’m fine with where it came from and I’m ecstatic about the quality after being nervous over certain reviews. It came packaged very nice and the ruck was in a thick zipped up bag with the extra goodies inside in a smaller zipped up bag.I have a 12 mile ruck next week and I’ve already got it packed and ready to go. It fits my body great. The weight distribution is wonderful. It’s comfortable. The ruck is not at all buckling or struggling with the full load.If you want a ruck to replace the smelly used on or the old acu pattern one, but don’t want to pay 300-400 plus on eBay for an authentic one with an nsn #, get this one. I promise no one will be able to tell a difference unless your leadership happens to be the couple of ppl who reviewed this product complaining about no nsn#. No one is gonna check that or give 2 cents.
