Recommend for older kids and adults. Our 18 year old loved it very challenging.

This is a beautiful and well made box. No assembly is required. It is more difficult than other puzzle boxes I have bought previously. It took my 18 year old nephew about 10 minutes to open. Nice box for the price.

This was a great puzzle box! This was part of my Christmas games we play on a yearly basis. The team that won this could not figure it out. Lucky I let them cheat with the directions. lol

I gave this to an adult and they had fun. I think this particular box would be too hard for a kid, but a puzzling challenge for a teen who doesn’t get too frustrated. It comes with a step by step guide that’s easy to follow so you can put stuff inside (or there’s a slot you can put things through). It looks beautiful and is a fun keepsake/memory.While wrapping it I noticed if you shake it, the key puzzle will move along a few steps towards the goal, so wrap carefully or be okay with them not starting exactly at start

The sliding pieces portion (with key symbol) could have more combinations. There is only two spots to move the key symbol to. The keys do stick some when trying to move them.Otherwise, it was a fun gift for them to solve in order to get their money.

Nice quality! This box is pretty and it would look nice on a shelf. The puzzle is a lot of fun! I gave several as gifts and everyone of all ages enjoyed the challenge to get to the gift card inside. Plenty of room inside for a gift card.

Before using, my husband and I sat down with the directions. We navigated the key in the slide puzzle to the correct spot, although the pieces didn't slide easily. Then turned the dial counterclockwise to south, noting that the dial didn't seem connected to the box and came off in our hands without even applying pressure. The panel that was supposed to then slide loosened about one-sixteenth of an inch, but wouldn't budge further. No amount of adjusting the puzzles would work, and finally the mechanism inside (wood bits no wider than toothpicks) broke and we threw the darn thing out.
