My 9 year old loves this set and is learning to use it. He spends hours practicing his penmanship with it, it’s a quality set for the money

Got this for my brother for his birthday but it was so exciting I showed it to him before it was even his birthday! I used it with him and it was so AMAZING, when you dip the pen in the ink it lasts for a pretty long time. You might think some stuff is plastic, but it is ALL metal! The pen feels nice when you hold it too! It comes with a good amount of ink, to get the seal on the ink capsule off you have to release suction by puncturing it with something sharp and then try tearing it off. Absolutely AMAZING! definitely recommend!P.S don't ask me why I bought him a feather quill. He wanted it!

I recently purchased a calligraphy pen kit, and I must say it's one of the best values for the number of items included. The kit came with a feather holder, five alternative tips, one fine point tip, ink, wax melts, a candle, stamp, and holders for both the ink and wax. It even includes an envelope and a sheet of paper.Setting up the kit was straightforward, and I was excited to try calligraphy. The kit offers a range of tip sizes, from small fine points to thicker points, allowing for versatility in writing styles.A couple issues I found was with the holder to hold the hot wax to pour on the envelop it gets hot quickly, so it's essential to wear gloves or use some form of protection to prevent burns when melting the wax. I also notices that the writing from the stamp didn't come out properly after using it after melting the wax. It's possible that I need to use more wax, but I've tried it multiple times with mixed results. Aside from finding a safer way to melt the wax, I believe this calligraphy set is a cute gift option for beginners who want to explore writing with a quill pen.

My daughter bought this for a friends birthday and loved it so much, she asked for one for herself. The kit is really cute and much nicer than it looks in pictures. The stamps in both sets we received had the Harry Potter logo, which she was thrilled about. This makes a great gift for anyone.

Purchased it for display only on a wooden plate easel and looks great presented that way. Satisfied with the quality. I believe the feather would more accurately be described as maroon and not red. For a display only purchase, a true red would have stood out better against the black background but this did not prevent me from giving it 5 stars.

The pen is absolutely lovely, nicely designed, well weighted, sturdy and a delight to write with. It holds well and feels nice. It is just the tiniest bit too small for my big-ish hands, but it should be perfect for the average user.It comes with a matching stand which is well balanced and stands sturdy with or without the ink pot in its designated circle.And the letter opener, though not a matching piece, is very lovely, sturdy, intricately designed, and dull enough so you won't cut yourself, but edged enough to make a clean cut in the crease of an envelope.The ink is not the best ink on the market, but it's sufficient, richly pigmented (not watery), and doesn't bleed in most cases.2. I adore the seal handle. That was one of the biggest selling points for me with this set. It's double sided with the same design and (what feels like glass) gem on both sides. It has a nice antiqued finish, and the screw is universal and should fit most standard seals. It also has some good weight to it. It's not too heavy, but it helps keep the seal firmly planted.The seal itself is ok. It's the Hogwarts school official seal, not my first choice but a nice thing to have. I bought a different seal for myself. Also the design doesn't fully transfer to the wax. The letters mostly become one big rectangle of "vaguely recognizable as text, but hard to read" something. It's cute tho. A nice idea for someone who likes Harry Potter.The spoon is beautiful to look at and sturdy. It's not breaking any time soon despite having a very thin handle. The only draw back is that it's all metal, so the handle will get just as hot as the well... which is VERY hot. You'll have to wrap it with something when using it or you'll surely burn yourself. Adult supervision is essential if this is intended for child. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under middle school ages.And my biggest meh part of this kit is the wax. It's definitely synthetic, has a very low smoke point, and smells like burning plastic. According to a quick google search, it's likely made with the same material as a hot glue stick. Not my first choice.3. Anyway, back to things I like - the nibs! My favorites are the Medium Point and nibs 3 and 4.- The Medium Point EF nib is already in the pen when it arrives. It writes similar to a felt tip pen. It's great for print or cursive.- nib 5, the narrowest nib, bleeds a little. My boyfriend who knows more about nib pens than me says that the prongs are misaligned and that it's either my nib specifically or it could be a standard... either way, I won't be using that one.- nib 4 is by far my favorite. The photo I posted with the alphabet and Theban is written with nib 4. It writes very nicely, doesn't bleed, and holds a decent amount of ink.- nib 3 is slightly wider than 4 and writes just as well.- nibs 2 and 1 struggle a little. They sometimes don't lay ink despite having some in the well, and when they do write they often bleed. With a careful hand they could be great for decorative calligraphy, but I probably won't be using them.* My boyfriend also suggested that I mention that the nibs don't have a lot of flex or bend to them which means they might not last as long as a more professional nib; they might wear out faster. But overall they work great in this set and fit the price point perfectly.4. The packaging is really lovely! The box is very sturdy, and the antique world map print on front and back adds a nice touch. There is a foam insert overtop of everything to keep it safe (not pictured in my photos), there is a velvet lined foam backing, and all the items except the ink well are tied down with elastics that are built into the foam backing.Several items are also wrapped in plastic bags for extra protection during shipping, and there is a small plastic case over the nib in the pen.* If you're planning to give this as a gift, I recommend opening the box and tidying it up first. Take off the plastic bags, make sure everyone is in their proper homes and give it one last look over, but it's packed really nicely.5. In conclusion, I think this is an excellent gift set, totally worth the price and really good quality for the parts that matter. Everything is well manufactured, looks great, feels great and should last a lifetime. The quality is such that this could even be handed down as an heirloom. I highly recommend this for beginners and even advanced writers.

Fans of Harry potter will be very happy. My child loves it, shame that set includes only one envelope and one letter paper. Apart that set looks amazing.

This set is absolutely beautiful! As someone who loves and has been a hobbiest of wax seals and calligraphy, not to mention a huge Harry potter fan. This exceeded expectations!!!A great gift for beginners and advanced hobbiest alike.Few things:INK: my bottle had ink and even a stopper for the ink bottle. it's not the best ink I've ever used but it's fine to use right out of the box.SPOON: Warning ⚠️ the spoon for the wax gets hot! I prefer metal spoons and wear gloves and use a felt pad to keep my hands safe. If you gift this to a kid watch and warn them of that fact. The spoon bed is small and to get enough wax for a stamp you need it almost completely full. But I got it because I have small hands and wanted a smaller spoon.Wax: i don't usually use candels i perfer wax beads but they are a nice ascetic. They cling to the stamp a little more and they look a little more glossy but they do the job. I melted the candel into the spoon and held the spoon over the flame to keep it warm.STAMP: tip put the stamp on ice (i fill a baggie with ice water then rest the stamp on top) it will help you get a cleaner peel away from the stamp. It's a very nice and pretty stamp. It's simple and gets the point across.NIBS: The writting nibs do not have a flow regulator (it usually is a peice on the back of the nub) so they can get a bit messy and you have to dip your pen far more often. Not really a deal breaker just something I wanted to note to those who are a little more advanced.LETTER OPENER: it's great got some weight to it, very beautiful, it opens mail cant complain.FEATHER PEN: game changer in my calligraphy game its so beautiful and the stand is so bloody useful I don't know what I did before this. It feels good in the hand not to light or cheap. But also not heavy enough to hurt my hands.10/10 would recommend!
