This fit our wall receptacle and the EV 50A plug perfectly. The fit is very tight and snug and has no chance of coming loose. The handle on the plug is useful and necessary for removing them because of this. During some charging sessions I didn't notice the plug get any warm whatsoever. I'd say the claims about fireproofing are probably correct (obviously I didn't test that). It's very robust and strong and I would trust it to outlast any other part of the EV charging process. I can recommend it!

I just picked up this NEMA 10-30P to 14-50R EV Charger Adapter Cord as part of my EV charging cables. I haven't actually used it yet for charging, but it's always good to have a backup.I really like that this adapter is specifically meant for EV use and explicitly states it's "Not for RV use." I've had non-EV adapters melt on me before, which was a scary experience, thankfully that's all that happened. I've learned that with the full wattage of an EV car charging for hours, typical accessories are not meant to hold up to that kind of sustained heat.This adapter connects a 30-amp dryer outlet (NEMA 10-30P) to a 50-amp EV receptacle (NEMA 14-50R) for Level 2 charging. It supports a maximum 30-amp overload and 7500 watts. It's made with 10AWG pure copper wire and has a flame-retardant, UV-resistant PVC sheath, which is important for durability and safety, especially for outdoor use. This is a crucial safety item to have.

Used this to connect our new smart charger to an extension cord running from our old-fashioned dryer plug. Seems solid, doesn't heat up, no complaints.
