How does a carburetor work?

A carburetor’s job is to supply an internal combustion engine with air/fuel mixture

A carburetor works by mixing air and fuel to allow for internal combustion.

OEM MPN's: 15003-1200, 15003-0021

Pros of using carburetors

  • Carburetors aren’t costly when compared to that of a fuel injector
  • The operating mechanism of carburetors is straightforward.
  • Carburetors aren’t integrated into engines, which means they can be replaced or serviced without affecting the engine.
  • Air and fuel mixture is perfectly done with the component.
  • It has more power and precision of the air/fuel mixture.

OEM MPN's: 15003-1200, 15003-0021

Functions of carburetors

  • The primary function of a carburetor is to allow a suitable amount of air and fuel needed to produce power.
  • It regulates the air-fuel ratio and also mixes the fuels.
  • Controls the engine speed.
  • Helps the fuel to burn smoothly and properly without any problem.

NICHE Careburetors

ATV Carburetors:

Most ATV carburetors use a simple design. They have a vertical air pipe that’s strategically located above the engine cylinders. The vertical air pipe is then joined to a horizontal fuel pipe (at the narrowest part of the venturi) which allows for the passage of air into the engine’s inlet manifold. The inlet manifold, also called the intake manifold, is part of the engine that supplies the air/fuel mixture to the cylinders

Motorcycle Carburetors:

Regulate the flow of air through their Main bore (Venturi), this flowing air draws in fuel and the mixture enters the engine via the intake valve.Turning the throttle on a motorcycle handlebar does not directly control how much fuel enters the engine. The throttle controls how much air is allowed to flow through the carburetor, and the flow of air is what controls how much fuel is also fed into the engine

I installed this on my 1998 Kawasaki Vulcan VN800B. It was a perfect fit and runs perfectly. I am very happy with this carb and would definitely buy this again! Just make sure to clean your tank and lines really well before installing this.

Went to change the Jets out but found the two sets of jets were not included in the package. I called customer service to see if they could send a set. I was told they didn’t have any available but they issued a refund for the jets. I realize mistakes happen and am happy with the outcome. I’ll buy from them again.

I own a 1997 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 classic. It’s been running poorly and I’m a motorcycle mechanic Vintage hobbyist. So I removed the carburetor and disassemble all the jets and cleaned everything nice. However there’s a accelerator pump on these carbs and that was new for me. The diagram that pumps the fuel was deteriorated. So I looked at kits vs a complete new carburetor. For 100 bucks vs 60 bucks why not. I installed the new carburetor and it started up right away. Runs like new. All the hoses fit properly and the manual chock also matches up same thread. Great buy in my opinion. Oh all the sizes match up to the old one. I us all my hoses vs the ones that came with it because of length and formed moulded hoses.
