I bought this lock for my bike, and worked quite well for about a year and a half. Sturdy, functional, and looks pretty nice. However, the key started to stick about a month ago, and it got progressively harder to unlock, seemingly randomly. Today, it just completely stopped working, and I can't get the lock to work at all.

The lock is solid and seems to do its job well (bike hasn't been stolen yet).Good stuff:The device for attaching it to the bike frame for storage screws together on the frame, giving me more confidence in its stability than the nylon strap version on my husband's, otherwise similar, Kryptonite lock.Its size is big enough to fit through my tire, around my frame, and around a bike rack.Bad stuff:The locking mechanism is very finicky. It took some time to practice with it to make the key engage the lock. I think my biggest problem was that I was trying to push the pieces together to make the key fit, when what I needed to do was pull the pieces apart.

Fits well on the bike, easily installed, large enough to loop frame and back wheel, and front wheel if I want to take it off. Came with plenty of extra keys, which is good, because I know I am going to lose at least one.

I have been using this on my new Vilano road bike and I'm very happy with it. It seems quite strong and I haven't had anyone mess with it, even though I leave it on a college campus outside my classes for hours at a time.

I keep my bike in Boston/Cambridge with this lock and it hasn't been stolen. It seems thick and secure and locks/unlocks with the key easily. The included carrying piece holds it securely while riding although I sometimes have a hard time getting the lock to click into place on it. The lighted key is a bonus feature that I haven't found a use for since I don't ride at night.

I gave it 4 stars because it seems like the U frame and the locking mechanism fit a bit loosely, but the lock still locks strong. This lock comes with 5 keys, which is great if you ever lose one. The mount was easy to attach and can be attached in many different positions. The lock is a bit heavy, but I only require it for when I'm running errands, I keep it off when I'm fitness riding. The rubber coating on the lock keeps my bike from getting scratched which is a great feature. If you register with the company and purchase for 1, 10, or 15 dollars they company will reimburse you the full cost of your bike if it is stolen for up to 1, 2, or 3 years, 3 years costing 15 dollars. This company really stands by their products. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a quality lock that is easily mounted to your frame and doesn't jiggle or bounce when riding in the city.

Great Price for a Great U-Lock - I paid seventeen for the lock (I purchased 2 of them) - they have gone up in price. I was shipped the "8010 BulldogSTD" which is 13mm for the shackle (I guess I was lucky in the shipping roulette). The LM model is 11mm for the shackle. OnGuard provides 5 keys - much needed for backup keys, etc. Highly recommended.
