My vet recommended this product after our Schnauzer got her teeth cleaned to keep them plaque free. This has worked so well on my Schnauzer! Her teeth have stayed nice and white and no tartar. I brush her teeth first and then apply the gel. It is expensive but if it keeps her teeth clean it is worth it. I do this once a week and has worked very well for me.

After our two dog’s dental surgery 2 years ago we got this and use it once a week on each dog religiously. No pulled teeth since and no bad breath since! Do not sleep on this product!! I wish we had access to this 15 years ago!!! No taste, odor and it’s so simple to use and my pups love teeth day! Just spread it on their teeth like peanut butter, lol.

Just like what you get at your vet’s office, only cheaper. Arrived several days early, too.

Instead of daily, brushing our cat's teeth (I know that I need to do so, but the cat's just aren't on board with it!), this weekly ritual makes it easy to take better care of their teeth - especially after a dental cleaning.

This works great as long as I am diligent about using it. There is another review out there that says it is for front teeth only, and that is incorrect. You apply it to the front OF the teeth (cheek side), not the back of the teeth (tongue side). Definitely slows down the buildup of tartar and extends the time between dental cleanings.

First of all, if your dog doesn't like having his teeth brush or having things inside of his mouth he might not like this! This is really helpful after a professional cleaning you apply to the teeth with the applicator and it creates a seal for a week now obviously if you're brushing the dog's teeth it will last longer but I recommend doing this for people that don't or can't brush their dog's teeth everyday especially for smaller dogs that tend to have more plaque accumulation.

Our dog unfortunately has a chronic oral condition and is being cared for by a specialist dental veterinarian. She has had to have some teeth removed and needs daily brushing and regular veterinary cleanings to prevent plaque buildup in the hopes of keeping the teeth that she still has. This product was highly recommended by her dental vet as part of her treatment plan.

I'm a vet & I've been using this for years on my cats (works on dogs too). It's not perfect, decreases tartar by about 40%. I combine it with Aquadent (Yes it has a TINY amount of zylitol as surfactant, but not enuf even for dogs to be a problem. It's hard enuf to get some to drink it, it's suppose to be tasteless but some disagree; I don't think I can get anyone to OD on it :)!). Helps to decrease time between dentals, especially for those who have gingivitis/stomatis issues (many of my present/former cats, lucky me!).Most pets don't luv it, supposedly flavorless again :), but many will allow it (I do have a few who think I'm "killing them" but I'm a vet, they will submit :) ).Tip: Don't bother with the applicators. Use q-tips, just make sure which way the cotton rolls first. Plus, just keep in sealed plastic bag & use until gone. One tub lasts 1 month or more for 3 cats once weekly.

I took my 13 year old Maltese to the vet, and he (the dog, not the vet) had some pretty serious periodontal disease. I've had his teeth cleaned twice, to the tune of $400 each time. This time I couldn't afford it. I went online and found this stuff, and also bought some Arm & Hammer water additive and tooth spray. The combination of all three of these has been amazing...slowly revealing whiter teeth each week...especially when I apply the OraVet Gel! (And the vet said it wasn't possible to get little Cosmo's teeth clean without dental surgery!) And, I'll be honest: after a few weeks, I was so determined to help my little guy that I took a pair of fairly sharp tweezers and gently scraped at the tarter. Lo and behold, it popped right off of his teeth! He didn't fight me, thankfully, and seemed SO happy when his new white teeth were revealed again. I'm thrilled with this product, and will use it forever. And, as other reviewers mentioned, it's MUCH easier to apply if you dry the teeth first, and apply it with your finger.
