I purchased this to scare away the little critters from my chicken coop. I love the eye balls on this owl. It early looks real at night. The eyes are a vibrant white. I just filled with sand or water and posted on top of the coop. The head bobbles which gives it a more lively look. It’s not that tall but good enough sized for my coop.

Update - after placing the owl three days ago: The little birds are all gone from an area of at least 100 foot diameter around the owl decoy. The giant bush had been a jungle of frenetic little birds (sparrows, finches, wrens and robins) all day long and is now deserted. It was astonishing to see the difference from adding this little owl decoy. Oh - and no little birds were harmed and they have many many trees and bushes to inhabit in this semi-rural area; Just not near the giant bush and my car. Quite astonishing, actually. This FESTGLOX solar owl decoy is very cute. The detailed coloration does a decent job of representing the shimmering effect of iridescent feathers. The owl has a small solar panel which feeds a rechargeable AAA 300mAh 1.2V Ni-MH battery. After dusk, the owl's eyes light up with fairly bright white-colored LEDs. And there is a bung hole in the bottom of the owl - covered by a soft, flexible red stopper - which allows sand or tiny rocks to be added to the owl’s interior for extra weight and stability; However, the owl seems heavy enough all by itself to resist the wind ever blowing it away. The push-ON/push-OFF pushbutton switch could be better. It is difficult to determine which position is ON since the height of the pushbutton is so similar for both positions. However, this is only a minor issue.I ordered this owl to try to keep birds away from where i park my car. I park beside a gigantic bush which serves as a nesting space and a social gathering place for many energetic smaller birds. And everytime one of them gets ready to fly, they start by emptying their bilge tanks to lessen their flying weight. The issue is that too much of that ejected bilge ends up landing on my car.So - for the start of this research - i set the owl on top of the car to see if they would avoid the owl or not. Of course my worst fear is that they might decide to attack the owl all day long; Because angry birds flying over an automobile all day long attacking the owl decoy would actually make the situation worse than it already is.Smallish birds do tend to avoid predators such as crows and owls so this owl decoy could possibly help keep those pesky little birds away. And - if not - the bushes might need to come down. And it could well be several weeks till this story has an ending. But any direction this research might proceed - that’s one cute little owl.

It is as advertised. I feel like it could have had a little more to it for the price, and did think that the head would move in a purposeful way to be a bit more convincing, but something is better than nothing. I don't think I have convinced many birds with my owl that doesn't move at all, so hopefully this will be an improvement and also scare off anything else that may try to lurk around my chicken coop. It does have a nice finish. I like the colors. I appreciate that it is solar powered so I don't have to worry about batteries. The solar panel is on the side, so I have it facing the way the sun rises so it gets a couple hours of direct sunlight in the morning, and indirect for the rest of the day (unless I'm at home to turn it around for evening perhaps). It's a cute little light up bobblehead.

I absolutely love this Solar Owl Decoy! Not only is it an attractive addition to my garden, but it also works perfectly as a bird deterrent. The rotating head and lighted eyes make it look so realistic, and since it’s solar-powered, there’s no need for batteries or charging. It’s super convenient and hassle-free. The owl is sturdy and adds a unique, charming touch to my outdoor decor while keeping unwanted birds away. Definitely works as described, and I couldn’t be happier with both its functionality and appearance!
