I'm NOT getting paid for this review or getting any kind of compensation/discount/free product! This review is based ONLY on my personal experience using it and running tests and comparisons.I'm happy to report that this YINMIK YK-S01E device is very accurate when comparing to BlueLab Soil/fluid pH Pen and BlueLab fluid pH the reading were identical across all of them. The ONLY negative aspect is that the probe tip is made out glass which makes it very fragile. When poking the soil be sure to use something else to poke a hole and then insert in soil!?! Try to find something that's about the same length as the probe but a little wider/thicker. I have been recommending this exact device to over 50 Growers who were looking for a reliable but affordable soil pH pen but they got a surprise because this device also reads fluid pH and just as accurate as some of the most expensive pH pens. Just don't forget to calibrate it once a month. Happy Growing! 🪴

So, it won't matter if you download the app from their website or from an app store, this thing won't connect to the Bluetooth. It'll read the PH level & if that's all you want, then this is the product for you, but I wanted to keep track of things digitally... So, this was a HUGE miss.

Better than cheaper versions, the YINMIK pH probe is an easy way to test soil pH. It comes with everything you need (except purified water) to calibrate your sensor for the first time. It also has a metal spearhead to poke into the ground while protecting the (very fragile) glass tip as well as a brush to clean the tip between each test.The associated app (iPhone or Android) is minimalist but functional. It connects the probe to your phone via BlueTooth while in the ground and records the pH and soil temperature measurement along with date and time of the sampling. The app also allows you to add notes about where the sample was taken. Future versions might improve this by reading and adding the geo tag data from the phone. It saves the information in a file that can be downloaded as an excel worksheet. An annoying nit is that the “Save Recording” button does not actually save the data until you press the “Disk” icon.The instructions are easy enough to understand, but clearly not written by a native English speaker.The box and foam insert is sturdy enough to serve as a convenient storage container for the probe, test solution packs, instructions, and accessories.Worth mentioning is that you can replace the probe if you damage the glass tip…

After studying most of the pH testing products listed on Amazon, and reading dozens of reviews (and realizing how much junk is out there). I centered in on the YINMIK YK-S01. My biggest concern was that this product had only been recently released, and only had 3 “Verified Purchase” reviews (and 20 from users who received a free product to review). I was also concerned that there would be no way to validate the readings produced by the tester…ALL of my concerns have been alleviated! The design and construction of this product are five stars all the way (I am a consumer product mechanical engineer by trade. I would be proud to have been on the engineering team!). Hidden in one cryptic phrase in the listing was the best confidence builder they could have provided on the reliability of this tester… these guys provide a complete calibration kit! Using three packets of powder you set up known control samples of distilled water at 7.0, 4.0, and 10.0 pH. After calibrating the tester at these three points, you have a credible reason to rely on the readings you take later in your soil. See my pic showing the colored packets and the three control samples (not to worry… just follow the simple instructions). Yinmik is missing a huge opportunity by not showing the calibration kit in their Amazon listing!The app and Bluetooth connection worked perfectly (the instructions do say that a long press of the ON/OFF button opens and shuts down Bluetooth… maybe other reviewers missed that, or it was added in my version of the instruction sheet).One little heads up in the app… when you click the Save Reading button, all you have done is changed to the reading screen where you can see your reading. To actually record the reading you must tap the little diskette icon in the upper right corner of the reading screen (see my pic with red text and arrow). I missed that detail on my first testing session and discovered later that none of my readings were recorded :-/ Perhaps that diskette icon should be added to the instructions.Everything about the mechanics of this product are amazing! It’s solid, nicely finished, everything works smoothly, it’s easy to use and read. This product has earned my highest recommendation. I certainly found the tester I was looking for!
