My pool always seems to be turning acidic and so I seem to be forever adding chemicals to raise its pH to keep the chlorine happy. This product from TropiClear appears to be pure sodium carbonate and there’s a large 10lb quantity in a thick plastic bag. The bag is easy to open, the chemical pours out smoothly and the bag can be resealed. This should last me most of the coming season.Pool chemicals are becoming prohibitively expensive in local stores. 10lb of sodium carbonate for less than $30 is a fair price especially with free Prime shipping.

I got this as it’s difficult to keep our hot tub water at the correct pH. This is a large quantity of powder but the design of the bag makes it easy to pour. So far, this seems to be working well for our hot tub. I was unfamiliar with this brand before getting this, but I would consider buying from this brand again in the future.

So most people think baking soda is the same thing - it is not! Sodium carbonate (this product) works better per ounce to actually raise the ph and stabilize pool water. Baking soda is Sodium Bicarbonate and will make water less acidic but will not keep ph up as well. This product is at a fair market price and I like the pourable bag which makes it easy to use.

This Ph plus did a great job increasing the Ph level in my pool. Using the Ph also helps optimize the effectiveness of other things like your chlorine and Its plays a crucial role into keeping your pool clean and healthy. Its very effective and very easy to use but make sure to follow the directions on the back. Overall great product.

I use it for my spa and it works great to get my water pH up after a refill. We have pretty low pH tap water where I live so it takes a good amount of increaser to get my levels right every time I drain and refill my 400 gal spa. I quickly realized buying the larger packaged pool chemicals was way more cost effective than going through most of a bottle of the "spa" chemicals every time I do a refill. This works just as well as the "spa" packaged pH increasers and is a much better value since I go through it so quickly. If you use it in a spa you'll just need to do some basic math, or testing, to figure out the amount you need to add since the provided chart is for treating large volume pools only.

This PH increaser comes with an easy pour spout opening. No mess to clean up like I have to do with the other brands that only have a ziplock seal. I have a small to medium sized pool so I only poured 2 x 8 ounce cup fulls. I gave it a few hours and it increased the PH by one color shade on my test strip. It's few dollars more than the 4 lb bags I usually get. Good product.

It is hard to rate a pool product like this if you understand pool chemistry and what the underlying product truly is without bringing up costs. To raise a pool's PH without affecting alkalinity, all that is needed is sodium borate....or Borax which is how we all know it. So I always look at prices of baking soda vs pool chemicals before I buy. Unlike alkalinity up where I find the price of baking soda to be cheaper, Borax is generally more expensive and you can find specific pool chemical brands for cheaper. That is the case here as this the Borax brand for 25 pounds is close to double the price.I rarely need to use PH up in my pool as we get lots of rain and then evaporation and the alkalinity is what I need to adjust (which also adjusts PH) but I do use this in my hot tub and the pour spout makes it easier to add in small amounts. The packaging is a heavy plastic as well so it can get wet without worrying about the exterior falling apart like the Borax box would. I would get this again
