When I first got Planet Audio’s amp, I didn’t know what to expect being familiar with the big brandnames like Pioneer (trash), Kenwood (great), and Alpine (the best). Planet Audio has been around quite sometime in the late 90’s.Originally this Amp has an outdated picture because of them using 25 amps which will rate it at 1000W instead of 1200W. Pretty sure they paid attention to amp dynos on YouTube to make this correction with the Amp Fuses.Planet Audio by surprised corrected this with 30AMP fuses in the box plus the manual at the end had a sticker over the specs. So I’m glad they took initiative making this correction. You can swap out the 25AMPS fuses to 30AMPS to put it at its true 1200W.Upside: nice small size, ventilation on the bottom for air circulation to keep heat out. Knobs easy to do the gains with a regular flat tip. Beautiful designDownside: no crossover switch to go either 2 ch or 4 ch. Not a dealbreaker. But the upside you can do parallel wiring combing both the positive wires left and right speaker and same with negative side combine the two in Channel 1 Front Row. You can still add your sub in the front channel without bridging in front Channel 2. So that’s two separate channels leaving the rear channel 3 and 4 unused. You’ll save having to buy crossovers filters.Please exercise precaution your main speakers are rated at 4 ohms each which will put it at 2 Ohms in safe impedance in one channel before doing the parallel wiring method, which you won’t find this method in the manual.If you have a 4 gauge power wire before, get wire gauge reducers going from 4 to 8 gauge; it will perfectly fit. They’re $5 on Amazon saving you time and hassle.Hopefully this review will help put you at ease.

This a nice amplifier with all of the controls you need. It can be bridged, and I have no problem with speakers at 2 and even 1 ohm. I would buy it again.

I have had this amp in 3 different vehicles, only 1 was hooked up by a "professional". Yes, it gets warm, it's an amp. But it never gets hot to the touch. If it does, you may have it wired wrong or not have a big enough ground wire. These low reviews have got to be consumer mistakes. It happens. I had it playing 2x10's in one car. Could not turn up the amp due to overpowering the subs. It powered 2x12" and then the last car it powered 2x15".I've had it in storage since due to not having a car I can put that serious of a system into, until now. I am customizing an S10 and plan to put this amp on a single 12". I'm sure it is still kicking.
