These foam balls are very silent - but he aware that playing with these will feel very different than playing with the typical plastic balls. The good:- Extremely visible - these are roughly the color of a school bus; you can't miss them in the air.- Silent - as advertised, these aren't as noisy as the typical dinks- Soft - while I wouldn't recommend aiming at a vase, you could very likely play these against a wall without much cause for concern if you'd like to practice indoors. The bad:- Squishy - these are foam. Foam plays differently to plastic. If you're looking for actual, game time practice you'll need to get some real pickle balls.- Silent - yes it's a pro, but is it REALLY pickleball without the dinks??- Durability - the choice to paint "holes" on these was an odd call. Mine have already started to peel a bit so I anticipate these will just be yellow balls before long. Foam also does tend to break down and develop cracks/holes. Will update this when that inevitably hap

I'm a big advocate of these practice balls. They are a rubbery foam material. They weight more and are denser. The higher weight, I feel, requires more power in your swing to achieve the same result in a standard hollow ball. This teaches you to hit your shots harder. I think that will pay off while playing as it gives you more of a muscle memory kind of thing. I may be off my rocker here. But it is my hypothesis. Either way, these are well made and fun to play with. They change the way you play as they are heavier and respond differently to being hit. The bright yellow color is hard to miss. I don't care so much about the quieter aspect but that's a feature as well.

These are the same size and similar weight to regular pickleball. They are indeed nearly silent, and certainly much quieter than the usual balls. My friends and I had a blast practicing with these and enjoyed that they were quieter and even more fun to hit. I'd be thrilled if all pickleball were replaced by these. That said, I don't see that happening, so it's important to note that these ARE NOT exactly like hitting a pickleball. I took off a star as I was hoping to be able to practice with these, but I think it will throw off my game if I use them too much, as they are simply different.I think the main difference that can probably never allow a "silent" copy of a pickleball is that those are basically wiffle balls, meaning they have many holes on them, so that adjusts how they move through the air. Without those air holes, these moved much faster and more smoothly. Again, I actually would prefer to play with these. We found it much more fun to play because even light hits could get good speed and go further (if you shoot too hard, these will definitely go out of bounds quickly). They are smooth and fun to play with and seem well-made. My only complaint is that they would throw off your opponents, and these would not likely be allowed to be used anywhere unless it's practice/casual play, and therefore, I probably won't use them much. Seeing as that was my primary purpose, that is why I took a star away. I did not take away more stars as these are still fun and well-made. They are also not DRASTICALLY different. When we first took a few hits, they felt very similar, but once we started playing longer, we could tell these really were changing how we hit a bit, and we didn't want to get used to them since we'll have to be playing with the regular balls when we do Open Plays and other group leagues and clinics.

These balls are great quality. Very quiet and durable. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they are made! Great purchase and highly recommend for pickleball players.

Not a drop in replacement. These balls are slightly lighter and smaller in diameter than a standard pickle ball and react more aggressively off of the paddle. Dropping a standard Franklin X vs one of these from a 1.1m height resulted in a bounce of about 40 cm for the Franklin and 50 cm for these. We tested them on an outdoor sanded concrete surface for a game at about 80 F. I wonder how they respond in the cold? They held up well with no noticeable wear and tear but I would not expect them to last long in a harsh outdoor environment like bare concrete. The color is OK in sunlight, might be less visible at dusk than the standard fluorescent colors pickle ball manufacturer's prefer. They were very quiet, to the point that we realized that was actually part of the game we missed. Hearing the "thwack" off of the paddle provides feedback that is missing with these balls. These seem pretty pricey ($5 each). Overall if you have to use them (HOA requirements), you can get used to the difference but this is not something that I would want to play with long term.

PD MaxX Foam pickleball's bounce remarkably similar to a regular pickleball at Short distances and at a slow to medium pace. They're great for hitting against the wall or a dink, master or practicing however, when you hit them at top speeds they sail straight and fast much further than a regular pickleball. They do not Arc down with topspin just like a regular pickleball does assuming that's because they're solid and don't have the holes in them. They're more aerodynamic and cut through the air differently. They are definitely not as loud as a regular pickleball and are great for hitting indoors against the wall because they won't hurt anything. They're soft and if they hit you it doesn't hurt nearly as bad as a regular pickleball. Overall they are really cool product and I look forward to using these for practice indoors against the wall and for drills.

These work great for those seeing less noise - especially when you are playing indoors. They are very safe - nothing can get damaged!
