As a concept this little cooling fan works and delivers what you pay for. I tested it with a little thermostat, taking readings after letting it go for 10+ minutes to hit a steady state. Results were:Starting room temp: 79.0 FFan only full blast: 78.8 FFan + ice pack full blast: 76.3 FSo there you go, it works. The noise level even at highest isn't bad, kind of like sitting next to an low HVAC vent. The lowest setting is definitely office friendly, white-noisey, no whine. I will say the lowest setting is a very mild fan, depending how warm you are you may have to have the fan very close to you or just use higher speed settings.The fan isn't the prettiest but very light (without the ice pack), compact and def can sit on a desk near you. Very thoughtful they give you two ice-packs so you can have one freezing while the other's in use. Haven't tested how long the ice pack stays frozen but I'd be happy with a few hours. Power source is USB cable that's a little short.An ice pack-fan is a lot more portable, practical, and I'm surprised more cooling fans don't use it, but full disclosure I never tried one of those cooling fans that uses WATER +/- ice, so I can't compare efficacy. I just knew personally I didn't want to deal with a water tank. That means grime, slime, and also just spilling when in transit.Oh hot tip, if you're like me and use things without reading the instructions: the powder inside the ice packs is INTENTIONAL COOLING RESIN that enhances the pack's freezing power. DON'T POUR IT OUT...like I did :( Still usable but I guess I took away a little of the ice pack's power.Anyways I'm happy with this little fan. Will def give the edge when you don't want to cool the whole house.

It is small and has good air speed but if is noisy as the fan is mounted directly to the plastic housing and the vibration it causes on a solid surface is annoying. I put felt padding on the bottom that seemed to help a bit but they need to mount the fan with rubber o-rings or something to cut out so much noise it causes with the plastic housing.

I Was Told This Would Arrive on Wednesday. It Actually Arrived a Day Early.It Was Double Boxed( Well Packaged) upon Opening, I Find it Is Exactly As Described( Nothing Missing).Seems Well Built for The Cheap Price . I Tested The Fan, All 3 Speeds Worked As Hoped. VERY Very Quiet. I Don't See This Disturbing Your Sleep if Used While You Sleep.Did Not Fill TheTanks to Test It's Cooling Effect Yet, But Everything Else Being What It Is, I'm Confident It Will Servel Well.It's Too Small I Believe, To Cool An Entire Room. However,Keeping It Near to Where You're Sitting, I Think You Can Breathe A Bit Easier in This Sweltering Summer Heat.I'd Recommend to Anyone , and Would Certainly Not Hesitate to Buy Again.This One Will Serve As a Gift to A Friend.

I've purchased two of these units, and I consider them to be useful and a good value. It would be an overstatement to call it an "air conditioner", but it would also be unfair to call it "just a fan". It is effective for cooling a limited area, like a desktop, for a limited time -- say 30 minutes to 1 hour before changing the ice pack. This unit is an alternative to devices that have a water tank and evaporate the water, cooling but also increasing humidity -- this one WILL cool (I measured a 6-degree temperature drop within a minute on two thermometers a couple of feet in front of the unit) and WON'T raise the humidity, though a small amount of water from the surrounding air can condense on the ice pack.

This compact desktop air cooler is perfect for use in my study, which is only 6 square meters and contains only bookshelves and a desk. I really like the compact design of this desktop air cooler because I can place it on the edge of my bookshelf or desk, which saves a lot of space. After using it for two days, I realized that despite its small size and simple design, this air cooler is very powerful. I think this is a very useful mini air cooler for small spaces.

The cooler works. It blows cool air right at you. I found the low and medium speed is quiet and provides great cooling. The ice blocks: put in your refrigerator! Then freeze one block two hours before use by placing in your freezer. Do not leave the ice blocks in your freezer all the time! They will break because they will over freeze, get to frozen. Store them in your refrigerator, very important. I placed a small towel under the cooler to collect any condensation when in use, it can get a little wet after a few hours. Just a bit of water, but you don't want that getting on your other electronic devices nearby, or on you. I dry the inside ice block area after using the cooler with a paper towel. Easy. The cooler is very light weight. So don't drop it. The materials are thin plastic, probably to keep the cost low. But it makes it very easy to bring the cooler with you. So far we have taken the cooler outside on the patio, in the car (my a/c is down), in the office, in the bedroom, living room, and on the beach and park. It provides a noticeable cooling effect. Aim the front of the cooler right at you. Adjust the fan speed to your liking. And it delivers cool air. We put the extra ice blocks in a small ice chest with some other ice things, and when the cool runs warm, change out the ice block with a colder one. I am a huge fan of this cooler. Great price. I also have a car charger with two usb a slots. It's getting us through until I can get the car a/c fixed, over a thousand dollars quote, ouch! And we found other uses for this cooler. It's nice to use if you don't want to run the whole house system, just to get a little cool on the go. Enjoy. Came bubble wrapped in a nice box. Very nice presentation. Great Value!
