***To verify proper installation once installed, test by connecting a test light or properly wired trailer. Here are the steps on how to it. ***

--- If testing with a test light, attach the ground pin of the tester to the ground contact of the 4-flat end. Asking a friend in the cab to activate the tow vehicle left turn, right turn, tail and brake lights one at a time. Probe the three pins of the 4-flat end to confirm proper functionality.

--- If testing with a trailer, mate the 4-flat with the trailer and run the same test as the circuit tester using the trailer lights. If a function on the trailer lights does not work properly, disconnect the trailer 4-flat, turn functions on the vehicle off and recheck function with a circuit tester. If functionality is good, check the trailer for potential problems. The short circuit, overload and thermal protection of the taillight converter may cause the trailer lamps to pulse on briefly every two seconds. If this pulsing is seen when testing with a trailer, this is an indication that the lamp circuits exceed the ratings of the product or there is a wiring issue with the trailer.

Now that I'm outside the return window, I connected a trailer to this. Everything works fine except the brake lights.Rechecked all the connection with a test light. All were correct. Rechecked the truck side for proper power. All good.Bought a different adapter and installed it. Now everything works fine. Unfortunately, I bought two of these and the other one is also installed without a trailer connected yet.2 hours down the drain plus the cost of the inoperative unit(s)I'll update the review when I connect the other one to a trailerUPDATEThe economist works but the seller tried to hold me hostage for a refund on their defective unit. They said they wouldn’t give a warranty unless I gave them a better review.Buy something else that has a warranty!

I had bought some electronic components thinking I was going to figure out how to create my own brake light controller. Then I found this system. Little bit more cost up front, but my time is worth money too. The time it saved me trying to create the correct circuit and get it wired in was definitely worth the cost. Highly recommended!

This converter worked perfect, replaced a Curts direct plug converter and cost 1/3 the price. Just used the connectors from the Curts converter and made it a direct plug converter.

Well got it installed on a 2020 Chevy Trax LS. Everything but the left turn signal works. Checked and re-checked all connection and power outputs but no power going to the left turn signal. Going to be returning it and look elsewhere.UPDATE:Well I upped my review, I was at fault for this not working. I assumed the wiring for the turn signals on my car was the same for both sides, well they were not the - and + were reversed on the left turn signal. Hope this helps others and sorry for the initial bad review.
