Starting to fall apart after about a dozen uses. Still can hold the animals, so might get a few more uses. The funnels are not as deep as in the picture and I think it might make it a little easier for anything that gets in to get out. The one I got is a bright yellow color. I've gotten some good size crayfish with it. I think fish might be weary of it because of the color. I do get fish in it occasionally. Only way I was able to get a usable amount of bait fish was to put it in a shallow pond that was saturated with mosquito fish

Caught shinners and baby bluegills in it. It works, no doubt.Likes-It’s compact-Catches bait-Light Weight-Dries FastDislikes-The drawstring is rough and tattered-difficult to empty fish out of-very difficult to clean especially if you’re using bread or dog food as baitI still prefer my Frabill metal trap over this, for my use/compared to other traps, the trap is worth at most $10 CAD.

Bought this trap beginning of the year. It’s only been in the water for maybe 7 nights. Threads are as durable as dissolving sutures. I’ve actually replaced half of them with fishing line to keep any minnows that do go in from getting out. I’m buying an old school metal trap for next year.

These minnow traps are great! I have had many minnow traps over the years, but never one that is collapsible like this. Mind you, it is not wire mesh, so if a turtle or a gar gets to your trap it's going to get torn up. But at $10 a pop, I got 3 of them and can store them on my boat taking up minimal space. Collapsed they are about an inch thick and 1 foot square so they fit very easily into the storage hatch in my little boat. I put them out in the morning with some dry dog food in the bait pouch and come back in a few hours to collect my crappie bait. The zippers are pretty sturdy and sewn in well. If you take care of them, they should last several years without a problem. Get you a couple of these!

I previously tried the "domed" type minnow traps and the crabs got in and destroyed it. This minnow trap worked fantastic. I put some dry catfood in the bait pouch and dropped it in the river off my pier not expecting much. About 2 hours later I pulled it up and was shocked to see 3-4 dozen nice size minnows in it. And with the smaller entrance holes I didn't see any evidence of crabs. Great product.

This is a great product that has held up well. Nothing to "figure out". Has clips on the sides to collapse the trap for storage when not in use. The only thing I wish it had was something to hold the string so it doesn't unwind from around the trap when storing in collapsed position. But that isn't a big deal and product performs better and has lasted longer than I had expected.

Used it for back country camping, folds down and fits in a pack easily. Decent quality, worked as intended

This trap worked well and caught lots of fish. Some of them a bit too big (see photo). I have only used it once and was quite happy with it. Bit hard to get the fish out once you have caught them.I really like the extra zippered compartment for the bait (I use bread and dog food).

I bought one, to see how it will work for catching minnows specifically emerald shiners. These are very nice traps, folds up small, clips to hold it shut, solid zippers, and very well made.I could see these lasting several years of use if not abused.Be advised if you are looking to capture a few dozen in a single soak then I would suggest getting few.Personally the couple place I catch minnows I would say 3 would work great, to get a 4-5 plus dozen. This would be plenty for a day on the boat.Example:I will pay $15 or more for emerald shiners at the bait store for a trip of perch fishing lake Erie.So over the season I would spend an easy $120 - $150.After I order a couple more I will be $36 - $48 invested in traps & a bit of my time.So I will be saving several hundred dollars over the next couple years. So that money saved can be spend on making good times fishing …..

First of all if you want to catch allot of minnows, and crayfish this is the trap for you! on the other hand the material is quite sketchy both traps are already torn were you insert the bait.

I like this product because it's compact, folds up and locks to fit into a small area, opens up instantly, and dries quickly.Works best around / in cover, and close to the bottom if no structure like a dock crib is handy.Drawbacks: it works so well that instead of just catching minnows, I've caught small game fish--which I suspect is illegal. I've let them go immediately. Also, I was unfortunate enough to have left the trap tied to the dock while I was out fishing for a few hours. Some small bass and a young northern pike got into it, and a family of otters discovered them. I love the otters! But they loved the fish, and chewed several holes in the net wall of the trap to get at the fish. I've not been able to replace the net, so I'm just buying a whole new trap--it's not very expensive. And considering the fact that my kids love seeing the little fish, and I enjoy getting free minnows to fish with, I think it well worth replacing. And I don't mind feeding the otters, either--they're pretty cool!
