The main problem I have is the lack of better protection in the packing, transport and delivery process. I know it's unrealistic to expect every single person who handles it to do so with kid gloves but it's getting ridiculous that every single time I've had this EXPENSIVE cat food delivered to me it's come damaged. Can they at least wrap the cases in a few layers of bubble wrap if they're going to be manhandled and literally thrown around (I *heard* it being delivered)??

My cat has been diagnosed as diabetic and he loves this food. It’s just very expensive.

My 14-year-old cat has diabetes and needs special food. This stuff works well, though it is expensive. The delivery was fast. I had to switch from Chewey because of the slow delivery, and Amazon came through.

Pepe, my newly-diagnosed with diabetes, 16-year-old (80 in human years) cat likes this food! It's a big can, so it lasts a few meals, and heating for 5 seconds seems to work. I'm thinking about purchasing the hard cat food next. Solid buy!

My cat was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and Diabetes and she was seriously ill. The emergency veterinarian prescribed Lantus Glargine insulin and canned Purina DM cat food. Previously, I had been feeding her an expensive grain free and low carb dry cat food. Over time she gradually became obese. Considering the vet’s advice, I decided to switch her diet completely from dry food to canned food. But, would she eat canned food? She had always refused it before. Initially, I provided the wet food first at each meal. She would nibble and lick and then turn up her nose. I would let her take short breaks then again encourage her to eat. After several days she was eating the wet food by herself. I regularly checked her blood sugar levels with an AlphaTrak2 monitor that I purchased on Amazon. After about five weeks, her blood sugar was suddenly normal again and I immediately stopped the insulin. The veterinarian confirmed her diabetes was in remission! Now, several months later; she has lost weight, is healthy, beautiful and still diabetes free. There is no way to insure the brand of cat food you select is the best based on the manufacture's claims or even on the product reviews since ads are designed to sell and the bad effects may not show up for years. Although, one thing is certain, no cat should be fed any brand of dry cat food exclusively because a dry food only diet can lead to health issues in cats such as; diabetes, kidney failure, urinary problems, etc. Purina’s Dietetic Management cat food has proved to be a beneficial cat food option for my cat. When I see her playing and full energy sprinting around the house I am thankful for the vet who prescribed Purina DM canned food, which greatly contributed to her full recovery from diabetes. NEW UPDATE 12/17/2016. For the past several months, I have been feeding my cat a superior high quality canned wet cat food. I can hardly believe the greater difference it has made in her fur coat and energy. This nearly all meat cat food brand is called 'KOHA' and it is 'Made in the USA'. For about the same price as Purina DM, your cat will receive considerably better nutrition and health benefits by eating KOHA canned cat food. My cat is still diabetes free and thriving so much better now on her new food. ,

My Gizmo was diagnosed with diabetes in July and the Vet recommended teeth cleaning and dietary changes first then we will go the insulin route if necessary. So far so good. We bought the DM dry food to go along with the wet. He likes the dry when he has the urge to crunch but is hooked on the canned. I spoon out the canned food by the 1/4 of the can. I lid the rest and just give him more when he is ready for it. I keep the crunchy available. He goes thru 1/4 cup of the dry every couple days. He goes thru a can a day. The vet placed no restrictions on how much he can eat in a day so Gizmo is happy to eat to his hearts content. He is a very large tabby mix and was about 25 lbs before. (He was very athletic and was always catching birds and chasing the dog) He is now down to 18 lbs and it feels weird to pick him up. He had no problem eating this food and that was a worry because he would turn his nose up at anything other that the canned whitefish pate. I don't know what else to tell you about this product except it is working well so far for my cat. My only problem is the price - but since the insulin treatments seem to be painfully high, I am glad that the diet modification is working for $2.00 "ish" a day. The hard food he liked also and crunches away happily. I hope you get the option to try diet modification first and that it will work for you also!
