Don't be put off by the packaging. For anyone trying to connect a device which outputs HDMI to a DisplayPort monitor input, this adapter works! That is great as it means I didn't have to buy an expensive dock or hub with DisplayPort output. I could take the existing HDMI output from my MacBook, use this adapter, and connect it to the DisplayPort monitor input. Very nice. And it is currently working fine at 2550x1440 resolution @ 120Hz refresh, too.A few thoughts...- This adapter requires both an HDMI output on your computer/laptop -AND- it requires access to a USB-A port for power. Make sure you can accommodate both.- You need to supply your own DisplayPort cable. Make sure the quality/certification of the cable matches what you plan to drive thru the cable (resolution, refresh rate, etc.)- Don't panic if your screen looks discolored when you first try it. Mine did. But I found the Mac auto-set the refresh to the highest 144Hz setting. Once I set it back down to 60 or 120Hz, the display was totally fine. I don't know if this adapter or my cable cannot handle 144Hz but no big deal. 120Hz is just fine!Lastly, the order is really important here. This only works when you have a computer/laptop which outputs HDMI that you wish to send to a DisplayPort input on the monitor. It will not work in reverse!!Good product and does exactly what it says. This is a great way to use a DisplayPort input if you have no native DisplayPort output devices! Nice find!!!

This works with practically 0 noticeable latency while viewing. Good picture, just make sure you change the audio output as needed to ensure sound. It's pretty much plug-and-play. Very satisfied.
