Got this to use at the office I work at. While there is a mishmash of cutlery that everyone brought in from one time or another, I don't know if people wash it well or if at all. Picture Joey licking the spoon and throwing it back into the drawer in front of Chandler. I've also used plastic forks provided by the office but those break sometimes. I can't count the number of times a plastic fork snapped when trying to get a one of those lettuce stems that are just a little bit too thick. Now you've got all those microplastics in your salad, a fork with a jagged missing prong, and a small plastic prong mixed in with your salad. Nightmare.I decided to get my own set of common utensils. To date, I've only used the fork and knife. I bought a quesadilla and use this to cut it apart and stuff it into my gaping void I call a mouth. It was already soggy by the time I started eating anyways so I wasn't going to use my hands. It worked well enough. I wish I thought about choosing just silver or stainless steel color instead of black because I know that color's going into my stomach eventually.

This is a nice little kit. I've had other kits along these lines, but this one is top notch. The actual utensils are solid and non-bindy. They are much higher quality than what you might find in some discount dollar place. The black finish is a nice touch. The case is awesome. And the utensils have been shaped in such a way that they fit inside the case in a very space efficient manner. The case is flat and everything fits nicely inside. The knife has some nice serrations which allow me to even cut into meat pretty well. I wouldn't want to have to cut steak with it, but it's great for what it is. The spoon and fork are both sturdy. The chopsticks have some etchings at the bottom to help with grabbing food better. I still might prefer wooden chopsticks because they grip a little bit better, but these are very sturdy and will hold up for a long time. Finally, I've washed the utensils a couple of times in the dishwasher, and I don't detect any damage done. The shiny black finish is still in place and there are no signs of damage. All in all, this is an easily 5 out of 5 star item.

For the price of these, it's a nice set. My biggest bug-a-boo with it is the weird coating on the utensils. I am a very texture oriented eater, and these have a weird feel to them, even after several times. I am hoping that if I continue to scrub away, the texture will fade. Aside from that, they are super convenient in their little case. The utensils themselves are nothing super fancy. They are lightweight, fairly standard restaurant style utensils. They are somewhat easy to bend, but will hold up if you're eating something like a steak. I like the addition of the chopsticks, something that other sets fail to include. I'm going to give this a little more time and if the coating continues to be an issue I might re-rate to a 3 star, but for now they are good to go.

Although I saw the dimensions provided in the listing, when it arrived I was surprised by how long the case (9") and utensils are. My mind had gone to my 6" sporks and 4" êkö Cutlery, but this set isn't made for hiking or backpacking (those are 2X+ more expensive.) Instead, this is a more genteel version of cutlery to keep in the car or pack in a lunch bag.The case is my favorite part of the set. The faux oxford exterior feels like a nylon blend and the stitching is straight, neat, and evenly spaced including the curves and zipper insertion. The easy glide zipper extends nearly 3/4 around the circumference, allowing both sides of the case to lay flat when opened. There are hidden stays on the long edges that provide structure to protect the contents. On one side is a wide web-weave fabric loop handle (I would have preferred a carabineer.)The interior fabric reminds me of the inside of a soft-sided cooler - I'm uncertain why that material was chosen except it is tough for it's weight. Maybe as waterproofing if you put the utensils in before they're dry after washing? And of course, inside, held down by elastic bands are the stainless steel flatware and chopsticks. The chopsticks are the most sturdy pieces. The knife, fork and spoon are not the weight or quality of the stainless "silverware" you probably have at home... but they are functional. They're dishwasher safe and the black finish helps to quickly distinguish them from other flatware. This Reusable Travel Utensils Set from GuoluvSoo lives in my car as an aid to my commitment to reduce my use of single-use plastics... now I just have to convince restaurants to stop automatically putting plastic cutlery in my to-go bag.

I ordered this portable silverware set to use on camping trips, airplanes, cruise ships and more. I'd previously been using a folding fork (think a switchblade, but with a fork head), but it always weirded out TSA and was a pain to clean. So I figured that for $6, I might as well switch to a complete set with a carrying case.First impressions are excellent. The case is made of tough fabric, has a nice thick zipper, and the interior is insulated/reinforced so the silverware won't bust through it.The utensils themselves are made with a nice dark stainless steel. They feel sturdy, but also 25% lighter than my kitchen utensils. I couldn't easily bend them. I also like how they're made with a dark, gunmetal finish; this makes them more inconspicuous and less likely to be mistaken for restaurant silverware that you simply stole. As for drawbacks, the only one I can think of is that the knife is serrated. This means you can't sharpen it or take it through TSA :(But aside from that, I'm happy with my order and would recommend this set to anyone who likes to a) camp or b) save money by bringing their own meals to the airport.
