This is the punch mitt that was designed for trainers, by a trainer! All these years later, it is still the most innovative and inspiring punch mitt in the world. Features: Pre-curved high-density impact resistant foam. Original "The Wedge" wrist and forearm protector. Palm dome cushion for better grip and impact absorption. AirFlow system and indestructible Rich PU material. Original padded finger protector. Printed Rival graphics.

I've always loved Rival products. I also have their gloves and hand wraps. The mitts are very strong and slightly heavier than other mitts I've used. It's fits well in the hands and gives good protection when someone strong strikes the pad. I don't really get the flap above the glove. I was told it protects the holders face but you shouldn't hold mitts right in front of your face. Also, it's a little pricey, but overall very well made.

Better quality all around than the TITLE mitts I had before. If you are working the mitts regularly, step up to these gloves.

I train on punch mitts and train others on various styles of mitts - micro mitts, regular size mitts, and the generic flat faced style mitts supplied by the gym. There are at least 10 trainers in the gym I attend and most of them use the micro mitts for more accurate punches, lightness and they're more efficient to carry around. A few have the taller 9" pads but I see the trainers prefer the 6" tall micro mitts. The kick boxers, karate class and mma guys tend to train more on the taller pads. I looked all over the internet coupled with my experience with some of the trainers mitts and settled on a pair of the Rival RAPM mitts. I've had them for over a month now and I use them about 3 days a week. Pros - they are colorful (for some reason boxers prefer black gear and someone said they look like space ships),very light for their size, offer extra protection for the wrist, better protection for sore shoulders and elbows from heavy hitters, and make a nice, loud smack when hit on the button. These mitts are high tech. Other mitts look plain and ordinary next to these. They really stand out in the crowd in appearance and construction. Cons - Because of the extra padding on the wrist a hook or an uppercut thrown off the mark can make them fly off your hand even while tightly gripping the raised area inside the glove. The glove tends to get under the wrist padding causing it to slip off. Embarrassing. Because of the width, a punch a litte off to the side will torque your wrist. I see a few small threads coming loose. If you have large hands it will be difficult to get them on because they are a snug fit. I also noticed the pad in one of the mitts has sort of slid out of place a bit under the leather. My verdict - a good glove for pugilists on any level and especially good at receiving heavy blows. I think it would be better to couple these gloves with a set of micro mitts for a winning combination. Upper Darby Gym, PA.

Rival mitts1. Have a comfortable feel to the wearer.2. Have hand protector for jabbing the puncher.3. Have a target printed on the punch side of the mitt.4. Have a nice balance.5. Have the wrist support wedge.6. Have the same features as most expensive mitts. These have all the standard features most mitt companies put on their flagship models. It is up to the buyer which brand they like to "wear."
