Love it. You need a space that you can build this and not have to move it around. It takes a long time to build-which is great. The waxing of parts is kinda of a pain. But, it is much better than the Metal build projects.

Beautifully cut wood that fits together well considering it is wood. Yet, some of the gears are very easy to break if not approached carefully. Be liberal about sanding down, with provided sandpaper, any parts that are hard to insert. Don't forget to use the wax provided as well. I gave it 5 stars overall because we broke some parts assembling it with my teen and they kindly provided us a replacement sheet at no charge. Still haven't figured out how all the combination mechanisms work. It would be nice to have a video showing how all its locks should work. Overall, a very nice project to spend time assembling.

I had a great experience putting this thing together. Everything fit very well and snugly together. I did not have to use any replacement pieces for this project, except on one piece I had to use a very tiny bit of superglue just to make sure it did not move. I see all these bad reviews for this project and all I have to say to that is if you're not good with your hands or "engineer like", of course you're gonna have problems with putting it together. It isn't a lego, you need to be able to adapt to unexpected circumstances and make it work. These people just whine that it's a bad product but they just suck at this type of stuff, go back to legos you whiney child. I would say this project is definitely 17+ and not for kids. Kids are likely to break it and need to stick to the legos.

I bought this as a birthday present for my grandson & said he wants to do it with me when we’re no longer lockeddown so it may be a while but it looks great & we can’t wait.

I found the instructions for this kit a little confusing... that’s just me. I think anyone who reads the directions carefully should not have any issues. Here is what happened with my kit (and if I could give this company 10 stars, I would....)... I put my kit aside after completing some of the steps. When I went to work on it again, I realized I was missing some pieces... they were there when I started. I emailed the company and told them what happened. They graciously sent me the pieces I needed to finish my kit for no charge. This is something that is almost unheard of these days. This is a GREAT company and I am looking forward to purchasing more kits in the future!

This one is a good one to do. I collect these and even sell some that are way bigger then this one. You Just have to be careful getting pieces out, especially A-6. If it breaks, don't panic, as that is one of just 2 xtra pieces. The rest of the 148 pieces if you break, I can't find a way to order xtra parts from the UK. I also used frog- lube, the wax form instead of their wax ( which is terrible ). It makes those wood gears roll. After it's put together, please be careful with the combination knob that turns just like an old school lock, 2 times to left and one to the right and back to the third digit in the combo code. I have had 2 front knobs break off if gears are not waxed enough and are used a lot. So i have been adding xtra glue when assembling the knob, which is a huge piece that runs the main gears. Also if you do break off the knob, don't panic..just glue it on and disable the main lock. Then it will still lift open by hand and close just fine. It becomes to much to enter the pad lock each Time one wants entry to the box. The 2 rear keys turn on separate gears, turn those opposite direction and the box opens comes up and opens its trap doors. This secret place Will hold rings and jewelry. There is also a secret compartment on top. See my pictures..I will say that the gears in this one box are amazing but just keep waxed. There are 3 different sets of gears, each accomplishing a different task. I also stained mine using a furniture stain market.
