Makes me hold my thumb flat instead of crooking it in the curved hook which you really don’t need to use to hold up the sax if you have a decent strap. With the flat thumb my right hand has better angle and movement on the lower keys. Easy to install. I bought two - one for my alto and tenor. Fits both. Try it. You’ll like it. Update—after using this for 10 days this is definitely a great product. It relieves tension from my thumb to my shoulder, and helps me balance both alto and tenor in a more natural way.

No more pain or calluses on the right hand. Seems like there is more control which seems counterintuitive, but my whole thumb lays across the rest, not just the joint. Been using it over a year now on a Selmer MkVI tenor. Wish someone would do this for the left thumb as well, I modified mine using Sugru to get more surface area.

I use to have pain in my right hand and forearm every time I played tenor sax. I noticed the other tenor player was using one of these. He said his pain went away. I ordered one and sure enough, I don’t get that tension or pain anymore. I play in several big bands and those gigs with three sets can be hard on your hands and forearms. This device sure helps! It takes a little getting used to, but I highly recommend it!

Really helpful for my thumb pain. My hands are fat and stubby and have problems with the thumb hook on my Soprano. My Alto never has given me a problem in the 50 years I've played it.

I've been using it on my curved soprano saxophone for three weeks, and after some very minor adjustments with sucess.
