It’s a very well made thermos although quite confusing. What is the point of the plastic insert? I will never use it.I cannot believe the cost of $49.99. At that price I cannot recommend.

Another Swell product that does not disappoint! It’s well-made, looks as described in the product photos, and it works great! This insulated food storage bowl is the perfect solution for anyone who wants a hot lunch on the go!

It does what it says. Keeps the food hot for probably longer than 6 hours. I prepared steelcut oats, and put it in the container. It was about the same temperature when I opened it for a 1pm lunch time 6 hours later. It does what it says but the container is large and a little bulky. Great product though.

This is a nice, high quality item, but I'm so confused about the purpose of the prep bowl. I definitely won't use it, and I"m not sure what it has anything to do with the main item. This is my bad- but I'd read the product listing as having 2 bowls which I'd thought would be the same, just one smaller than the other. Nope- it's just a weird little plastic bowl, inexplicably paired with the thermos! :-/

I kind of love this little thermos that is a bowl! It's purple, so big plus there. My only complaint is it's difficult for me to open and close. The top is large and I have arthritis in my hands, a handle on top would make it much easier.I've been using it take salads to work for lunch and my food stays fresh and cold. I haven't tried hot foods since we have a stove/oven and microwave at work so I likely wouldn't be heating something at home to transport. I haven't used the smaller prep bowl and probably won't. It's too small and I ordered with thermos/bowl because it's stainless steel, I'm on a mission to get a way from plastics. However it seems well made like the thermos part. It fits in my lunch bag and is very sturdy.

First impression was a good one. The size carries a good portion (of anything from chili to ice). The fit and finish is very good. Packaging was also very good. At first I struggled with the prep-bowl concept, but then it hit me - sauces and dips - perfect.I put it to the test, filling the bowl with ice and letting it sit on my countertop for over 6hrs. I was extremely impressed to find VERY little melting of the ice inside after 6hrs. Didn't try heat, but I would expect similar performance. Overall quality is excellent, the size is perfect and mobile. Easy to clean and maintain. The price is reasonable for what you get... 5 stars

This is a good bowl for taking soups or stews for lunch, if you want hot food and it is good for cold things like a salad or even ice cream, though the latter would probably need to be consumed within a few hours as in my testing it kept frozen things very cold, but not completely frozen after a few hours. I don’t mean that as a failure because this is supposed to keep things cold, not frozen. And in my testing, it did keep cold food cold beyond the stated 11 hour mark. This is on the expensive side, but worth it – it will last for years and the outer bowl gets you away from having to use plastics. And it’s much more convenient for foods than cup shapes.I’m a little unclear from the description and the accompanying info whether the intent is for some foods to be placed in the prep bowl and then in the container. Personally, since the idea of buying a steel bowl for me is to get away from plastics, I don’t think I’ll use the prep bowl and feel that the cost could be lowered a little bit without it. I don’t like the idea of microwaving or really even storing food in the small bowl, though it is BPA-free. I feel that putting a plastic bowl with a steel bowl with all the news about plastics being bad for you is not “reading the room” for the bulk of the potential customer base.

This container makes me very confused? The design and look are impressive, really like the purple color. It is equal to high quality tumblers that work really well but in a bowl form which is what intrigued me. I still can not figure out if you are supposed to leave the insert in or out. I tried it with some ice cream minus the insert, to see how long before it melted and it got soft but did keep it pretty cold for hours. The capacity is small which did not deter me as I do not eat a lot for lunch but... the outer size vs the inner takes up a lot of room in my bag. I did not like the sticker on the top that discolored the stainless and left a sticky residue that is a pain to get off. It is leak proof. Will not fit a lot would appreciate the interior to be a tad bigger and exterior a bit smaller imo I would give up the space for more volume inside. This is a lunch time investment for the price! I need to pack up in the morning and have my food hot/warm or cold/cool by lunch or taking it on the go. This just is not working for my needs.
