The cymbal has a thinner sound than I anticipated...but it's a solid crash for the low cash. If you're a beginner (not trying to record or "go on the road") it's worth the money...If you're more advanced I think ideally you'd want this as a #2 or #3 crash and not a primary; Something to add 'color' to your accent sounds. The more I play with it the more I like having it...but still think it sounds like striking a completely open top high hat (even using it for brief 'ride' licks/fills). The stand extension was a bonus. I attached it to a boom stand which is already holding my aero-ride and aero-splash (both Sabian) so my right hand now has three colors to choose from.
