This is a great tank, NO fuel gauge, less chance of water in your tank. You can essentially see through the tank for gas level. Next tank I will buy would be this tank, plain and simple.

I contacted the seller to see if installing a proper connector for my gas line hose would be a problem. I got no reply but on the unit a label showed how it was to be done.

I’m using this tank for diesel fuel for a heater. It vents only when the internal pressure gets above 15psi so it’s as environmentally responsible as can be. I run the heater with the tank laying flat but stand it up to transport it. Seems decent. A couple things, make sure the fitting that goes into the tank that your fuel line connects to is tight. Also the venting cap doesn't vent that well with the runner flap in it on the bottom side of the cap. Grab some pliers and pull that little tab out and it will vent like old school tanks did. Expands like a bi*ch (like normal) when the vent is closed for storage. Hopefully it doesn't pop... I've had it happen before (not with this tank) the tank cracked and leaked.

Cheapest tank I could find to replace my worn out old metal tanks for my 60 hp early '80s Evinrude. I'd been having issues getting the engine started, even when already warmed up/keeping it running at idle or low throttle, and eventually decided I thought it a tank problem. Since I couldn't find an easy, cheap way to repair/rebuild my old tanks, I tried this one and a $10 fitting. Now, I have no fear of my motor quitting unless I purposely turn it off, and it starts right up with 0 hesitation. What a great feeling!

I was originally planning to pick up a couple of spare gas tanks for my boat, but ended up only getting one. I like it a lot - I will definitely be picking up a second spare in the futute. I needed to purchase the easy-to-install gas line fitting separately, as it was application-specific (Attwood 8838US6). However you end up connecting this gas tank to your system, it requires a 1/4" NPT connector in order to fit the tank. The Attwood connector I used came with thread sealant already on the threads.

I am sorry to say this tank was not useable at all. When filled with 6 gallons of gasoline, the gas leaked out of the tank around the outlet fitting fairly rapidly. Let me be clear the leak is where the fitting threads into the tank, not through the fitting into a fuel line connector. I tried using teflon thread sealer and later a pematex type thread sealer with no better results. The fitting was tight up against the tank until it would not turn any more. It didn't matter whether the tank was sitting up or laying down, it still weeped gas around the outlet fitting. Even as little as 4 gallons in the tank would leak out after it sat in the sun for an hour and built up a little pressure inside. This is a plastic to plastic joint that seems to be too loose to seal correctly.
