I would give this tool 5 stars if I could send it back and get a replacement but I live in Hawaii and they won’t let me ship it back with the batteries. Weird rules because they sent it here. Otherwise it was working great and pulled the weeds easily. Then the tooth broke on it after about an hour use. I’m going to try to weld it back on. The power is great and the ease of use is perfect. Just snapped off too easy. Bummer!!!

This thing totally surprised me. I have tried every tool and gadget I could find to avoid the stoop labor of weed pulling that was killing me back and knees. Most of those gadgets are of limited value, pulling some weeds and just slipping on others. I usually end up on my knees doing it the hard way.It is still too early in the spring to tell but so far it handled everything including small, emerging rosa rugosa stems that are normally pretty difficult. The surprising thing is how it works. I thought it would operate like a similar looking manual weed puller i have which pushes spikes down, then (presumably) clamps the tap root and levers the weed out. That one invariably slips on difficult weeds. This electric puller only looks similar. Three spikes are stabbed down into the center of the weed, then rotate with considerable torque, twisting the root out of the ground. In compacted soil the weed comes out as a plug. In loose soil it comes out clean and stirs the soil like a tiny rototiller.I’m pretty optimistic that this will handle most of what I throw at it and I will once more be able to walk upright like a modern human. If it does, it’s well worth the money.UPDATE: Spring is finally here in the north country and with it a fresh abundant crop of weeds. Right now it’s mostly creeping Charlie and my particular nemesis, thistle. Also, a fair amount of stinging nettle. Short breaks in the endless rain afforded only the briefest windows of opportunity to clean out the garden beds. This weed puller is absolutely outstanding! I got through a tremendous amount of work in an astonishingly short time — all while standing on my hind legs like modern man! My only quibble is that the safety trigger is awkwardly placed and hits the side of my thumb. For extended use you need to wear gloves.UPDATE 2: Sadly, yesterday after a few hours of use I discovered a missing tine. It was nowhere to be found and it seems I was successfully using it with only two tines. I can find no source for replacement tines. I may have to find a stainless nail to fit and a way to secure it.

I, like most homeowners, have too many weeds in my yard that grow much better and quicker than grass of any kind. I'm getting older and my constant bending down is getting harder. I saw this weed removal tool that I could use standing up, so I had to try it. I am glad that I ordered it because it works quickly and efficiently to remove weeds, roots and all. Ever since I received this and charged the battery, I have not bent over or down to remove a weed in my yard or my neighbor's yard. My back and my knees are much happier and they feel so much better now that I don't bend as much as I used to have to. This is a good quality weed removal tool. I have not had any problems with any part of this tool, and I have used it a lot. The 3 prongs on the bottom that dig into the ground to remove weeds, including all of their roots, are thick and very strong. They also have sharp points, so don't let children play with this tool because they could get hurt easily and quickly. The motor, 20,000 rpm, is more powerful than I thought it would be. It is encased in plastic, which protects it from dirt, mud, water, grass, weeds, etc. The motor is built to last, and it is made to be anti-corrosive and anti rust. The weed removal tool does have a little weight to it, most of it is at the bottom. Having that extra weight at the bottom helps to keep the tool steady, helps to penetrate hard soil, etc. The battery lasts much longer than I thought it would. I cleared weeds from my yard and my neighbor's yard and the battery still had some life left in it. This is an amazing tool. It is easy to use. After pulling 3 or 4 weeds out I knew how much pressure I needed, how deep I needed to go to get the roots out with the weed, and how to release the weed from the tool without having to touch it. FYI, the weed release that you push after bringing up a weed and it's roots works GREAT. The weed and it's roots just fall off. I am able to pull out weeds in about 4 seconds with this tool. In my opinion, this tool is absolutely worth the money. It actually makes pulling weeds out of the ground fun, easy, and quick. I am as happy as I can be with this weed removal tool.
