I bought this 2" double fold binder to use with my Swiss-made serger because I wanted a bigger one than they make. This one didn't come with any instructions. I already had a smaller Swiss-made one (and the thumb screws) so I could use it as an example to put the new one together and found this new one included a few extra parts that I didn't need to use. You will, however, need to buy the thumb screws to put it it on and off your serger table because it doesn't come with these. The first problem I had was was the screw that holds the telescoping part to the actual binder. The screw has almost no shank and the slot on it is very thin. I don't know if the thing itself was magnetized or if it was my screwdriver, but that was something I had to overcome as well. The second problem is that I couldn't put the fabric strip in and through. After some consideration, I decided that the springy tongue makes up part of the mechanism and holds the fabric flat before it goes through chute that makes the double fold was quite flimsy and so I stuck my tweezers in between them and prised it out a bit so that it didn't push up against the chute. Problem solved. Other than the fact that figuring all this out and putting it together took me over an hour, IT WORKS GREAT. Although the pivot point on this 2" one doesn't hold fast like the Swiss-made one does, it doesn't matter because it will ride just fine if it hits the foot. Here's a picture of the product made with a 38mm Swiss-made one sewn with a 3-thread narrow overlock, compared to the shiny knock-off one sewn with a 3-thread wide overlock.

Perfect, for any machine but the three I tried it on. The screws were too shallow or the wrong thread size, the bracket was difficult to swing, the slide adjustment was either too short, too long or mismatched in any direction. This must have been for a commercial machine and I did not get the memo. Wish it had fit something.

Works with a Bernina (mine’s a 480). Okay quality. Much cheaper than the name brand, but comes with no instructions. I watched a YouTube video on how to use the Bernina brand one, which allowed me to figure out how to install and use it.

I bought this to use on my Bernina sewing machine. (The Bernina binder attachment is sooooo expensive.) It works great! I would recommend this to anyone who sews and needs a binder attachment.

Ordered this 2" and received very quick. Read it wasn't for a subrella material. All is good took a ice pick and flat blade screwdriver open up channels and now sews sumbrella just great for making my bindings. Thanks.

great attachment. does exactly what it's meant to do: fold over a two-inch strip of fabric to finish at about 1/2" binding around the edge of the project. It should fit just about any machine that has the holes in the bed for installing attachments. The only problem I had is with the attaching screws - they could be just a tiny bit longer. It would also have been nice if it came with instructions. But there are lots of online videos for similar attachments and I figured it out.

A bit fussy to get the fabric stared into the chute. A 2" strip gets folded, and folded again to end up with 1" double fold binding, (about 1/2 on each side of the main fabric edge). Probably won't work well with thick (outdoor / upholstery) fabric but should be fine for cotton / lightweight.
