It does the job well, and it is well made However, it lacks the stability of just using a breaker bar. Most tensioners on cars have a pretty strong spring. So when you are pushing the lever to compress the spring, the spring is fighting back. Without horizontal stability, it’s a little bit harder to use this tool. The upside of the tool is that you can get into harder to reach places because it is jointed. The downside is that joint prevents you with less stable tool. As you can see it fit my 2010 Lincoln navigator well and it was able to compress the spring. At the end of the day, however, it might be safer just to use breaker bar.
